Get Promo Cards at Standard Showdown

Starting July 30, our players can earn a Cowboy Bebop promo card by winning weekly Standard Showdown events held at KD Games every Tuesday Night. These promos work just like the Omenpath Basic Lands!

There are five special promo cards, all of them traditional foil. Each of them will be distributed during specific time windows as follows, with the first promo arriving alongside Bloomburrow cards becoming standard legal.

July 30, 2024 – September 19, 2024: Ossification

September 27, 2024 – November 7, 2024: Disdainful Stroke

November 15, 2024 – January 30, 2025: Go for the Throat

February 7, 2025 – March 2, 2025: Lightning Strike

Quarter Century Bonanza picks up where the Rarity Collection sets left off, with a bunch of new twists!

"Quarter Century Bonanza packs are 5 cards per pack, like the first Rarity Collection, but we’ve replaced 1 Super Rare in every pack with a GUARANTEED luxury Secret Rare (Platinum or Quarter Century).

That guaranteed luxury Secret Rare in each pack is from a special and separate 200-card nostalgia pool that is available ONLY in this luxury Secret Rare slot and is independent from the standard 78-card set that’s also in this pack. Quarter Century Bonanza is two sets in one!

We’re printing this 200-card nostalgia pool because Quarter Century Secret Rares are only here during the 25th Anniversary, and we know that you have a LOT of cards that you want to see as Quarter Century Secret Rares before that chance goes away forever. The last call for Quarter Century Secret Rares is coming, so let’s kick everything into overdrive, starting right now!"

"Each Quarter Century Bonanza pack looks like this:

A) 1 Luxury Secret Rare, B) 1 Super Rare, C&D) 2 Ultra Rares, and E) Secret Rare.

We’ve never reprinted a card that has a Quarter Century Secret Rare version, in that same rarity, ever. And we’re not going to start. This has kept some cards (which have Quarter Century Secret Rare versions) out of products like Rarity Collection in the past.

We’re going to get around this by including cards in this pack that already have Quarter Century Secret Rare versions, like Super Polymerization, Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames, and Diabellstar the Black Witch – we’ll just leave them out of the Quarter Century Secret Rare pool. Cards like these will still be available in Quarter Century Bonanza as Platinum Secret Rares, “prismatic” Collector’s and Ultimate Rares, and Secret/Ultra/Super Rares!"

Announcing the 2024 Seven's League

 

It's time for the 2024 Season of Blood Bowl Sevens to get started at KD Games.

We are looking for teams to join up for a summer of exciting Blood Bowl Sevens Action.

To join up please register your interest on our Seven League 24 channel on Discord and let us know the name and race of your team.

The league is due on Tuesday 6th August. (Matches do not have to be played on Tuesday's although this is a night when most players will be able to play).

Already signed up are the The Boneyard Deadbeats last year's champions.

The league will consist of 2 matches against each other team with the top teams progressing to the playoffs.

Standard Showdown (August 2 – September 19)

Standard Showdown continues to be a great event. We will continue to schedule these events weekly to give players a chance to refine their Standard strategy leading up to Store Championship. 

The winner each week takes home a copy of Ossification, the first of the Cowboy Bebop promos for Standard Showdown.

Commander Party (August 16 – 22 & September 6 – 12)

At Bloomburrow Commander Party, players choose a Party Card aligned with one of the ten groups of animalfolk residing in Bloomburrow and make their way around a wheel of seasons. Some seasons bring bountiful harvest and good weather, while others shake up the game board for everyone.

Players will have to work creatively using their animalfolk's special skills if they aim to win!

Store Championship (August 24 – September 15)

This time round the window for Store Championship allows us to pick the perfect moment for our community to go head-to-head in a tournament against each other for the opportunity to take home awesome promos.

Open House (September 13 – September 15)

Positioned at the end of the season, Open House is an event for new-to-Magic players to meet mentors and make friends all while preparing them to jump into the next event at your store: Prerelease!

The next Prerelease after Bloomburrow will be Duskmourn: House of Horror, what better promo to emphasize the cute-to-spooky jump players will be making in the following weeks.

Gym Leader Challenge

This Saturday we will again be running a Gym Leader Challenge

What is Gym Leader Challenge (GLC)?, well if your new to it here is the overview of the format from the website...

"GLC is a singleton Pokémon Trading Card Game format that is ripe with possibilities and strategies to explore. The rules of Gym Leader Challenge are simple:

• Only one of each card with the same name per deck (except Basic Energy)
• No Rule Box cards or ACE SPEC cards
• Only one type (color) of Pokémon per deck
• Cards printed from Black & White–on
• No cards on the Ban List

However, mastering the format is no easy task. In GLC, resources are limited, which makes deck building and skillful in-game decisions critical to victory. Gym Leader Challenge is a rewarding gameplay experience that will have you wanting to refine your deck and battle again and again!

Unlike Standard Format, the largest barrier to entry for Gym Leader Challenge isn’t the cost of the deck. In fact, most Gym Leader Challenge decks can be obtained for less money than an Elite Trainer Box! (No, seriously). The biggest barrier to entry for GLC is card knowledge. The legal card pool for GLC includes all cards from 2011’s Black and White through the most recent Pokémon TCG expansions! That’s thousands of cards to consider! "

The Infinite Forbidden was recently announced at the Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL MONSTERS The Legend of Duelist QUARTER CENTURY Event held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, returning the game to where it all began with a new strategy featuring the unstoppable Exodia!

By revealing all 5 pieces of Exodia from your hand or Deck, or having them on the field, you’ll be able to Summon a brand-new “Exodia” Fusion Monster! It can’t be destroyed by card effects and can add your current Life Points to its Attack Points every turn! This boost never wears off, so if your opponent somehow manages to survive Exodia’s onslaught, they’ll just face a stronger Exodia the turn after that! Through its mastery of ancient powers, this new Fusion Exodia can cancel 1 Spell or Trap activation of your choice, every turn, for free, AND it fetches an Exodia-themed Spell/Trap from your Deck each turn for YOU to use, also for free.

In Ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh and his priests fought with spiritual monsters, Summoning them forth from great stone tablets to strike down their foes! The Infinite Forbidden introduces a new theme that simulates this method of combat: First you place your “tablet” monster on the field as a Spell Card. Then, you infuse it with your life force (or Life Points in this case!) to Special Summon the card to the field as a monster! Each of these Summons is a Special Summon, so you can save your Normal Summon for something else!

If giving up your Life Points to fuel these monsters isn’t your style, there’s a special new Spell Card to give you a bit of Millennium Magic of your own – just reveal it from your hand and you don’t have to pay any Life Points to Summon forth the monsters from their stones! And since revealing it doesn’t get rid of it, you can do so over and over again. This Spell is also crucial because it’s used to Summon the “Exodia” Fusion Monster!

The Infinite Forbidden contains 100 new cards in all, for a variety of strategies, new and old, including a brand-new World Premiere theme! It also continues the fun of the 25th anniversary celebration by including 25 Quarter Century Secret Rares, including 1 special card.

Alpha Clash has arrived at KD Games

Alpha Clash is a superhero themed trading card game that immerses players into the Alpha Clash universe based on the novel and comic book series. 

Alpha Clash was expertly crafted and combines both original and popular game mechanics that offers players a familiar yet refreshing experience for players of all TCG backgrounds! 

We have some two player clash kits and boosters available. Boosters for the this game cost just £3 per pack!

The Alpha Clash franchise will continue to release new content for years to come that will fuel the TCG!

KD Game Birthday Painting Competition

We have been running a painting competition at KD Games and have been asking all entrants to paint one of our free miniatures.

Entrants could change the model (as long as most of the model is used), the pose and choose there own paint scheme. The model could also be part of a bigger scene if they wanted.

After much discussion the top three were selected and we can now confirm the final result.

Both of these entries showed great painting skills and clearly put some thought and effort into their design. They will both be to come and select any three paints from our GW or Army Painter Range as a runners up prize.

The winner was Leo

Leo's entry used all of the pieces from the original model and completely remodelled them into an Ork Mega Nob. Congratulations Leo, you will receive a 40k Painting Set and the proud title of our current painting champion. 

All of these models will be on display in the shop until the end of July. Please pop in and have a look at them. If you missed out this time or would like to try again then look out for a new painting competition later this year.

Francis S. Currey Special Miniature

Francis S. Currey was a US infantrymen bestowed the Medal of Honor for valiant actions during the Battle of The Bulge. 

The Bolt Action: Third Edition launch event is the only way to get a hold of the new plastic US Army & German Fallschirmjäger infantry Platoons (the new name for plastic Bolt Action infantry Boxed sets). They will be thereafter be retired to be returned to sale individually much further down the road.

Happy Birthday Kids Dreams

It's that time of year again. Its when I look back on the journey we have been on since we opened Kids Dreams our toy shop back in 2007 on 7th July.

Although we changed our trading name to KD Games in 2013 when our business rose from the ashes after our toy shop had to close, we are still and always will be Kids Dreams.

Since those early days we have traded and run events in a number of shops, markets, houses, halls and  function rooms often having to change the business to fit the current economic climate. Who knows what the future holds but I know getting to this point has been both challenging and rewarding.

We have been in 5 different shops, so here they all are, I hope that many of you, like me, have some great memories of them.
