Colt Express

July 11th, 1899: 10 A.M. The Union Pacific Express leaves Folsom, New Mexico, with forty-seven passengers. Yet after mere minutes, the sound of rapid footsteps is heard from overhead, followed by the jarring staccato of gunfire. Heavily armed bandits have boarded the train and begun robbing honest citizens of their wallets and jewelry! Though the bandits attacked together, greed will quickly triumph over fragile alliances in the presence of so much money. After all, only one bandit leaves the train richer than all his former allies…

Colt Express is a board game of schemin’ and stealin’ for two to six bandits aboard a three-dimensional steam train. You play as one of a group of ruthless bandits, dead set on grabbing as much loot and shooting as many bullets at your former companions as possible. Every round, you must determine what actions your bandit will take, whether you’re grabbing loot, firing bullets, punching another bandit, or running along the roof of the train car. If you can predict what your opponents will do, you can respond to their actions and stay one step ahead, but if you’re knocked off-track, you’ll find your shots flying wide. Only the richest bandit can claim victory on the Colt Express when the train pulls into the station!

This weekend we will be getting in copies of this great game along with a few special free give aways. We will be arranging a time for people to come along and try this game for themselves. (More details to follow soon)

Pokemon Go - Shiny!!!

There are only two available for now: the gold-coloured Shiny Magikarp, and it's evolution, the Shiny red Gyarados.

Players will likely recognise the Gyarados in particular from their time with Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal in the main series: red Gyarados is the first canonically recognised Shiny Pokémon, appearing in the anime series as well as at the Lake of Rage in a scripted encounter within the games.

Rumours of the Shiny Magikarp's existance began to float about on the internet last night, after the latest update went live under the guise of a Water Festival event.

There's also a snazzy Magikarp hat for your avatar, which is free to wear and makes you look rather dapper or something less complementary...

The Water theme ties in with World Water Day on 22nd March (thanks commenters!) - but it seems as though this was also something of a way to sneak the two Water-type Shinies into the game at the same time, for the die-hard fans to discover.

The Water Festival itself will bring an increased number of Water-type Pokémon to the game for a limited period, finishing on 29th March, and working in a similar way to the Valentine's Day and Halloween events that went by over the past few months.

Split cards in Amonkhet?

Is this the new split card format for Amonkhet? It has been leaked in the last couple of days and looks like it may be legitimate. If so what are you thoughts?

Dusk  - 2ww
Destroy all creatures with power greater or equal to 3
Dawn  - 3ww
Consequence - Cast this spell only from your graveyard, then exile it.

Return all creature cards with power less than or equal to 2 from your graveyard to your hand.

The design of the card maybe so that when it goes to the graveyard you can place it on its side so that the graveyard cast is still visible.

Netrunner Terminal Directive

Terminal Directive is an upcoming narrative campaign expansion for Android: Netrunner that allows players to enjoy a constantly evolving murder mystery in the Android universe.

Corp and Runner compete in a thrilling race for the control of valuable data that plays out over the course of an extended campaign. Each match impacts the larger shape of the investigations. Each data set unlocked leads players in a new direction. They may have run before. They may have pursued corporate agendas. But nothing players have done has yet prepared them for Terminal Directive and the narrative-driven campaign play it brings to Android: Netrunner.

As a completely new way to play Android: Netrunner, Terminal Directive will allow players to immerse themselves in the Android universe, allow a new story to unfold, and create a truly memorable gameplay experience.

So, of course, the Event Kit provides some fantastic prizes for players to take home and keep as a memento of their gritty murder mystery investigation. At the beginning of the event, each player will receive two double-sided extended art ID cards. These double-sided cards feature the new Runners and Corps from Terminal Directive—Steve and Ayla on one card and Siedr Laboratories and Skorpios Defense Systems on the other.

Each player will also receive a double-sided Directive card, representing additional goals for each side. As they play in the event, they will be able to meet certain objectives (in addition to winning, of course) and check the boxes as they are completed.

It should be noted that attendees will need to play multiple games in order to complete the objectives on the Directive card. Once a player has finished playing and completing objectives, they can turn in their Directive card to claim up to three copies of both of the extended art cards, one for Runner and one for Corp, more details of the event will be published once we have a better idea of timecale.

Deadpool and X-Force

Players will have an opportunity to get a sneak peek at the figures from Marvel HeroClix: Deadpool and X-Force! set before official world-wide release!

Originally planned for early February the set we have all been waiting for is finally going to be with us next week.

Provisionally we have book the Royal British Legion for a prerelease event next Friday, the 17th. Unfortunately I will not be able to confirm the event details until next Wednesday, but for now put the date in your dairy and let either Elliot or myself know that you are interested in taking part.

Spaces will be limited for this event.
