Bring on the Lightning!

I have been playing Dice Masters for a while now and generally been keeping to the same team, but with the introduction of the Yu Gi Oh set and a rather fortunate booster which gave me my fourth Pyro and most importantly Pyro Uncontrolled, I thought I would put together my first energy based team...

Scarlet Witch Wanda Maximoff is my low dice purchase costing just 3, she is not the best of the Scarlet Witch card but as I am running 3 villains in the deck she can help remove some of the cheaper Xmen from the field. Both level 1 and two can be fielded for free and her level 3 is only 1.
I would prefer to use Unity Squad but unfortunately I don't have one!

Cable Man of Action is a rerelatively low cost and along with Scarlet Witch is the early game threat. It is not a card I have used before but the one damage ability can clear out sidekicks and forcing characters to block can help to clear some of the annoying characters that sit on the field with static abilities.

Pyro Uncontrolled is the main character in this team and should be the main win condition. His ability to roll dice from the used pile when attacking should be very effective with the amount of dice that I have capable of rolling lightning. With 4 dice the plan is simple, get him on to the field as quickly as possible and attack - not subtle but hopefully effective!

Cyclops Field Leader is one of three characters that I will try and keep on the field. He is a reasonable blocker but his ability to deal extra damage is useful and should help Pyro to be that little bit more aggressive.

Mister Sinister Nasty Boy is another field character that I want to try and keep there. The one extra damage when Pyro is inevitably knocked out seems useful. His global ability is ok, but probably more use late game when there are more targets. It could cause me some issues as well but due to the amount of lightning dice I have this should be in my favour.

Marvel Girl Telekinetic is a card I have been using in other teams for a while, the thought here would be that the spin down ability might put characters in reach of either Cyclops one damage or Mister Sinisters 3 damage. Nice solid attacker at 6/6 as well.

Summoned Skull Intense Lightning is the first of two Yu Gi Oh cards in this team and the third one that I plan to keep active if I can. When my opponent summons a level 3 which is likely, they take 2 damage. Late game when they are looking for those big hitters the extra damage to them should make it easier for Pyro to deal the killer blow. I will change it for Lightning Strike if I get one as the ability to put Pyro into the bag rather than used pile seems to go to ignore.

The last card in the Team is Red Eyes B. Dragon Intense Fire Blast. This is another Yu Gi Oh card and he is a DRAGON - so seemed a obvious choice for me. He also gives me some answered to the sidekick based decks and the ability to turn them against their own controller. I also like the fact that he can use my own sidekicks that I often keep for blockers to boost his power and back that final attack!

To be honest I have no idea if this team will do the job that I hope it will but as long at is fun to play then I think I will regard that as a success. If anyone wants to give me a chance to test this team then I will be bringing it along to Tuesday's KD Games Night and assuming that it was a success it might even make it to the next Gambit Games Day at the end of March.

Artwork Previewed for EvL2

For a little while now Black Box have been previewing some of the art for the new Lords of War set Elves vs Lizardmen 2 which is due to be launched on kick starter in the coming months. So far we have only seen some of the Lizardmen but I think you will agree that it is looking pretty impressive so far...

Photo: We started this week with a card that will be a Kickstarter Exclusive - let's end it with one too.

The titanic King Ctenoch is a Flying Command Card. And yes, you read that right. Those of you who have read or listened to the Lore will know that King Ctenoch is a MASSIVE addition, but we are going to need your help to bring him into the game!

Please spread the word about Lords of War, join us again on Monday for the second leg of our #roughcoupleofweeks and learn more about King Ctenoch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4qzZI6qkcAPhoto: Yesterday we introduced the first Magic Unit to join the Lizardmen in the upcoming Lords of War: Magic and Monsters Expansion Pack. Today, say hello to their first Flying Unit!

The Pterodactyls are nasty blighters, as you might expect, but you'll only get to learn quite how nasty if you back our upcoming Kickstarter campaign! Hope you're enjoying our #roughcoupleofweeks?Photo: Time for a bit of a change of pace for Day 3 of our #roughcoupleofweeks - meet the first Magic Unit for the Lizardmen - the Dilophosaurus - who will be joining the game so long as our upcoming Kickstarter campaign is successful.

These gruesome blighters spit Poison at their enemies - the Lizardmen Offensive Spell - and if those enemies die then that Poison spreads to any connected allies. Sound horrendous? Oh, it is...
Photo: Continuing with yesterday's Amphibian theme for the second day of our #roughcoupleofweeks we are very happy to introduce you to the Wretched Croaker!

This new, super-tough Elite Spear Unit for the Lizardmen will appear in Lords of War: Elves versus Lizardmen 2 - so long as our upcoming Kickstarter campaign is successful!Photo: So, let's start our #roughcoupleofweeks with a bang - or maybe a croak? Anyway, this is one of the new Lizardmen Command Cards who will be featured in Lords of War: Elves versus Lizardmen 2 - so long as our upcoming Kickstarter campaign is successful!Photo: Say hello to the Gesh Acolyte, the Lizardmen Standard Bearer, who will be a Kickstarter exclusive when the time comes.

Each Yu-Gi-Oh! Dice Masters: Series One Foil Pack contains two cards and two dice that duelists can add to their Yu-Gi-Oh! Dice Masters collection!

MTG The Board Game

Last year Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro announced a forthcoming board game version of long-running card game Magic the Gathering to be released in 2015. At the time it had the working title "Magic the Gathering Strategy Board Game," but now Hasbro has revealed the official title will be Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers.

Arena of the Planeswalkers is for two to five players and includes five Planeswalker figures. All characters from Magic lore, four were announced at the initial announcement: Chandra Nalaar, Jace Beleren, Nissa Revane, and Liliana Vess. Today we can reveal the fifth Planeswalker in the game: Gideon.

Longtime Magic fans should know these characters, but Hasbro says no prior Magic experience is necessary to enjoy Arena of the Planeswalkers.

The game is due in select retailers this June and will be more widely available in August.

In the box will be: six modular board pieces, four plastic terrain pieces, three plastic glyphs, two temple ruins, five painted Planeswalker mini figures, 30 squad mini figures, one 20-sided die, eight combat dice, 30 damage counters, 60 spell cards, 10 Squad stat cards, and five Planeswalker cards.

This Week at Young Guns Club

CHAPTER ONE - THE OLD SKULL INN.

"You reach Shadowdale at dusk. A looming hill of pure white stone stands above the town, weeds growing out of the many cracks across its surface. Everybody knows the name of this site ... Old Skull.

The drow that built Shadowdale in ancient times came out from passages underneath the hill, or so the legends say.

The few buildings of Shadowdale are surrounded by sprawling farms. You make your way to the crossroads at the center of town. There you find the inn whose sign shows the round white hill. You walk onto the wooden porch at the front of the three story building. Warm light and the scent of delicious dinner come from inside, welcoming you to the Old Skull Inn."

What happens next is up to our brave bunch of adventurers...
