Lords of War Update

With the closure of the shop everything has been a bit hectic and I have not been keeping upto date with the Lords of War Kick Starter Project. Well it appear that a lot has happened and some of the announcements look really interesting. I have already backed this and if you have not have a look at this message from the guys at Black Box and then I think you will agree its certainly worth a few pounds ....

"Thank you everyone for pushing us over £7,500 - we're definitely on our way now!

We've had plenty of people asking about stretch goals - particularly playmats made of some more robust and/or luxurious materials... Well, we now have costs and are crunching the numbers to figure out what we can afford to make happen! 

Without getting too specific though, we would like to confirm thatwe will be offering:

- Shiny versions of particular cards (and possibly whole decks!)

- Custom, embossed Lords of War card tins

- Special Edition, Kickstarter-only foam playmats

- Plastic Lords of War 6-card card holders

- Card sleeves (naturally!)

...and, most excitingly...

- The Lords of War: Terrain & Weather Expansion Pack!!!

This last item is something we're really excited about - we've explained it to many people at conventions or after they have written to us over the last 10 months... it's been ready (on paper) for ages but, well, we've been waiting to share the idea with a bigger crowd!

Just to outline the basics, Weather cards would provide modifiers which would stay in effect for a single round, while Terrain cards change areas of the battlefield for the duration of the game. With a range of ways to play, including an optional Terrain-laying Pre-Game, Weather-only mods, Capture the Flag and a King of the Hill modes and more, the Lords of War: Terrain & Weather Expansion Pack takes Lords of War in a host of new directions!

With Marshes to sabotage Cavalry, Caves to fight through, Mountains to snipe from, Treasure to claim, Walls to build and dozens more modifiers to avoid or exploit, if we get the funding we need then Lords of War: Terrain & Weather is going to change the way you play forever.

For the time being though, we're just over the moon that we're at 37%... let's not forget, there's still a long way to go!
