TNT - Kill Team League

Our second TNT League of the year has come to an end and we have our winner.

After 8 weeks and some really great games, one player has been undefeated and claims the trophy but before we announce that, here are some other awards....

Congratulations Richard, and thank you to everyone that played. We had 12 players for this league, which is excellent, especially with the diversity in the teams that were being played, and the final standings were ...

Although the league has finished, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to get some Kill Team games in on a Tuesday night, or any other day/evening come to that, simply post up that you want to play on discord and there are plenty of people that will likely give you a game.

 

New Expansions - Incoming this year.

Two of our most popular games are getting expansions this year.

First up is Splendor, which has the Sun Never Sets Expansion due in May.

Get ready to push back the frontiers of trade with bastions and forge lucrative trade routes to the Orient! The Splendor: The Sun Never Sets expansion offers new strategic possibilities and will add tension to your games! Splendor: The Sun Never Sets is an expansion that requires Splendor, the base game to be played.

Then later in the year (sometime in the Autumn) we will get the expansion to Coffee Rush...

Welcome back! Your cafe is expanding, and drinks are no longer enough. Thankfully, you can now serve cakes to keep your customers happy. Hire staff, and use their skills to survive the rush! The Coffee Rush: Piece of Cake expansion has players fulfill new orders with the help of cake cards. It adds new player boards, new order cards, beautiful 3D cakes, and new upgrades.

Commander Party - Tarkir Dragonstorm

This Thursday it is the Tarkir: Dragonstorm Commander Party Event, starting from 6pm and continuing through til 10pm. 

What is Commander Party?

Commander Party offers players a fun way to experience the Commander format with a Magic story-driven twist. For Tarkir: Dragonstorm, players align with a Tarkir clan and use a set of special clan abilities by tapping into the gathering power of the Dragonstorm. But the Dragonstorm can grow too strong, unleashing dragons across the battlefield!

It will run alongside our regular Commander Night and is completely free to join with. All players that come along on the night will get a special promo card. Which is Dragonspeaker Shaman.

How does the Dragonstorm work?

Place the Dragonstorm within easy reach of all players. Allow players to select a clan card to use during the match—they may choose any clan, and more than one player may select the same clan. Each clan card lists abilities that can be activated during play for a cost of faction counters.

 

Each player will need a set of faction counters to use during play. They should easily fit on the Dragonstorm and be distinguishable from other players' faction counters.

Gameplay

A player places one faction counter on the Dragonstorm whenever they do one of the following:

• Cast a commander or Dragon spell.
• Deal combat damage to an opponent with one or more creatures.
• Cast a noncreature spell with mana value 4 or greater from their hand.

Once during a player's turn, they may activate as a sorcery one of the abilities listed on their clan card by removing the number of their faction counters specified.

At the start of each end step, if the Dragonstorm has fifteen or more total faction counters, each player with counters on it activates their last faction ability without paying its cost; remove all counters from the Dragonstorm.

Does my deck have to feature cards from Dragonstorm?

Players are very welcome to bring their own decks to Commander Party, and those who don't have decks can still enjoy the event with one of our decks.

Coming very soon to KD Games is the new skirmish game Star Wars Shatterpoint.

What is Shatterpoint?

Star Wars: Shatterpoint is a tabletop miniatures skirmish game where players build and command teams of iconic Star Wars characters to engage in tense duels and control key battlefield objectives. The game focuses on dynamic character-focused combat, aiming to capture the feel of epic Star Wars duels on the tabletop.

Key aspects of the game include:

Squad Building:
Players assemble teams of iconic Star Wars heroes, villains, and their allies.

Character Focus:
The game emphasizes the unique abilities and strengths of individual characters.

Skirmish Gameplay:
Battles are typically short and focused on dynamic engagements.

Unique Combat System:
The game features a unique combat system that allows players to recreate the feel of epic Star Wars duels.

Customization:
Players can collect, assemble, and paint their own squads, customizing them to fit their personal style.

We will be getting a small range but will be able to order pretty much anything as long as you don't mind waiting a few days.

Don Quixote - The Ingenious Hidalgo

Based on the famous novel from Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote is a fast game of wit and strategy.

Each round, the ingenious Don Quixote will head for a new adventure, and players vote simultaneously on whether to help him or not. Success in an adventure means Don Quixote progresses on his quest towards glory or love, while failure increases his delusion.

The twist: the more the knight progresses in one track, the more valuable your contributions to that track are, in a set collection mechanics where sets change value dynamically. Can you outwit the other players, anticipating what their next move will be, while not giving away your focus?
