They are given away for free to new players to show off the coolest aspects of the game.

The Welcome Booster contains ten cards. Each Welcome Booster is exactly the same and contains a sample of legendary creatures, planeswalkers, rares, foils, showcase cards, and more.

Free Warhammer 40k Space Marine!

Starting from Saturday 21st May 2022, we will be giving away some Warhammer 40k Space Marine models.

These are available for anyone that wants one, and are limited to one per customer. They are really easy to assembly and are a great starting point to building an army or a first painting project. 

In addition to giving these models away we are also offering people the opportunity to come in and paint the model. We have the tools you need to cut out the model, glue it together and paint it, all you will need is a paint brush. You are welcome to come in and paint at anytime we have space but will have some dedicated hours for this in the coming weeks.

When you have finished your model there will be a chance for you to enter our 'Best Painted Space Marine' competition coming in the summer holidays.

Commander Nights

I have decided to make a our Commander Nights a little bit more interesting. Starting from tomorrow night players will have the option to take part in our new 'achievement card' bingo game.

The achievement cards have 16 different tasks that players can try and complete whilst playing games of MTG commander. The tasks are themed on the most recent MTG sets which are Streets of New Capenna and Kamigawa Neon Dynasty. 

When a player completes a task then they simply put a cross through that box on the sheet. If a player completes 4 boxes in a row (either vertical, horizontal or diagonal) they show the card to me and I will issue them with a special foil promo Mind Stone card. Players can only get a maximum of two of these cards.

The promo's don't end there however. If a player manages to complete 10 or more boxes then they can again show me the card and I will give them a copy of the foil promo card Swiftfoot Boots. 

Our Commander Nights run every Thursday from 7pm until 10pm, they are completely free but are limited to a maximum of 10 players. The Love Your Local Game Store Promotion is returning! Starting July 1, we can hand out the foil retro-frame promo Sol Ring for purchases of Magic product over £30.  


July 2022 Store Championships Promos

Speaking of promos, later this summer players will have the chance to show their mettle and secure brag-worthy promos with the July 2022 Store Championship. The event can be run between July 9 and July 17, format and times will be announced closer to the time.

Store Championship uses Swiss rounds cutting to a top 8, and we'll have three different types of promos to hand out: the Participation Promo Flame Slash, the Top 8 Promo Archmage's Charm, and the First Place Promo Dark Confidant.

2022 Starter Kit Arrives June 3

The 2022 Starter Kit is ideal for any pair of new Magic players, as it give new comers the opportunity to dive into their first game in-person and continue the fun online with redeemable Magic: The Gathering Arena code cards. 

Starter Kits are being refreshed for 2022 and will collect cards from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, Innistrad: Crimson Vow, Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, and Streets of New Capenna.

The 2022 Starter Kits contain the following:Two ready-to-play, 60-card decks

One foil face card in each deck

Two Magic Arena code redemption cards

League is back!!!

League used to be a regular feature following a release of a new set. The last one that I remember running was for Guilds of Ravnica and was at our old shop. It was great fun to play and provided another way to enjoy the cards from the new set. From tomorrow, league is back! Not quite as it was originally but should be an enjoyable format.

How it works:- You get 3 draft packs of your choice to build your minimum 30 card deck when you start the event.

- You may play as many other players entered in the league as you want once per week.

- Each week you may purchase an additional pack to add to your pool and power up your deck.

- Each 3 game losses you take you may purchase an additional pack to add to your pool and power up your deck. You may do this once each week.

- The league lasts 4 weeks.

- All match results and trades are recorded on eventlink and your deck must remain in the store until the event is finished.

- Players can earn one promo card per week which is ...

- Players can join the league in any week and in addition to purchasing the initial pool of 3 pack and purchase an additional pack for each week they have missed.
