COLLECTIONS

For the last few weeks we have been offering sales via our website for Pokemon and Magic the Gathering items. This will increase to cover other ranges in the coming days.

When buying online there are two options for how to get your items. The first is have them delivered to your house but this will cost you extra and will take a couple of days to arrive with you. The other is to come and collect the items. Normally this would be from the shop, but these are not normal times so collection is from my house.

The reason for collecting from my house is that the shop is closed and deliveries are being delivered to me at home and it is much easier to arrange a time. Due to the current situation with Covid-19, there are a few things that we have put in place to make the collection easier and safer for everyone.

• Firstly, once you have placed your order I will message you either through Wix, Facebook or Discord and arrange a time with you when you are available to pick the stock up. This ideally will be a window of about an hour. I will try and make sure that you are the only people due to be collecting something during that window.
• I will then send you a Google Maps link to my home address so that you knw where to come.
• I will message you just before your collection window to let you know your goods are ready and send a picture showing your items for you to check.
• Next the stock will be place in a box outside my from window so that we can maintain safe social distancing.

• The box is cleaned after each collection and sprayed with antibacterial spray before new stock is added to the box. The spray is available if you wish to spray the products before handling them. Antibacterial hand gel will also be available for you to clean your hands after you have closed the box. 

 

• For security purposes there is a camera recording the box at all times, this will give me a record of people collecting their items and hopefully prevent people from tampering with the box. The recordings are deleted after collection by the correct person is confirmed.

• Please remember to bring a bag with you as you will need something to carry your good home in.
• Finally I would be grateful if you could confirm that you have picked your goods up as this will allow me to clean the box and get the next collection ready if applicable. 

Finally, although I will send a Google Maps link showing my address I have included it here to allow you to plan your pick up before you commit to purchasing anything.

This time around, the world—our world, Earth—is in a different spot than normal, and so Prereleases are going to look a little different. But there are still ways to get in on the fun!

A BEHEMOTH AMOUNT OF FUN

Prereleases have always been my favorite Magic events of the year.

Prereleases are events where it's your first chance to try out the new set—and to me, the heart and soul of the Prerelease experience is the energy of getting those cards and playing with them. And even if you're just doing that at home, you'll still be doing it with so many other people around the world as part of the global experience and conversation. Thanks to the internet, we're all connected!

The Prerelease of a set is great because the set is totally new, the footing is fairly equal as everybody plays with the set for the very first time, and you just get to relax and have fun exploring the new cards. It's a lot of fun for old and new players alike!

All right. So, let's go over perhaps the most important part: ordering product for your Prerelease! After all, you can't very well play if you don't know where to get the supplies you need.

While most Prereleases are run as an in-store event, because of the COVID-19 virus, as a special exception, players can pick up Prerelease packs and take them home! 

And if you're not able to get to a local store for any reason, you can still play on Magic: The Gathering Arena! They have Sealed events starting April 16, and the play experience is much the same. It's a great time to try out MTG Arena if you haven't already.



WHAT DO I GET IN THE KIT?

Inside, you'll get six Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths boosters . . . plus, a random stamped rare or mythic rare card as your Prerelease foil that could be any rare or mythic rare in the set!

Then, of course, you'll get a couple other goodies—like a spindown life counter to keep track of your life total. Actually, you know what? Let's just crack one open and take a look!

Want something to do?

If you have not played Dobble then you really should, especially if you have children.

Dobble is the award-winning visual perception card game for 2-8 players aged 6 and above that can be played by anyone, regardless of age and interests.

In Dobble, players compete with each other to find the one matching symbol between two cards. Every card is unique and has only one symbol in common with any other in the deck. The match can be difficult to spot as the size and positioning of the symbols can vary on each card. Once a player finds the match, they shout it out before the other players and either take the card or place it somewhere else, depending on which of the five mini-games they are playing.

Players must have a keen eye and lightning reactions in order to be the first to spot the matching symbol. Dobble can be played by up to eight players, meaning that gameplay is always fast, hilarious and above all ridiculously fun! The deck of cards is protected inside a small circular tin to keep them safe and make Dobble the perfect travel game you can take anywhere.

We currently have two editions on our website available for delivery or collection now, the classic original game and the new Harry Potter expansion.

Pokemon Go League.

We had another great tournament today for Pokemon Go.

This time we had 6 players. It was great to welcome MeisterStu and PioBurgio into the league.

ROUND ONE was

ROUND TWO was

After these three rounds the top two played off again for the win which was PioBurgio and Whiplashor.

Discord Server

A few years back we started using Discord to communicate to our Pokemon players but at the time it was not used a great deal and we chose to change our communications to other social channels.

That was then, things are now very different, and the Covid-19 virus has meant that more than ever people are connecting with other players to play virtual games. To enable a broader selection of games to be discussed and bring a wider community of players together we have started using Discord again and are in the process of adding new channels to cover the various games that we support.

Pokemon League at Home

Today we are trying a Pokemon League event whilst everyone is at home.

We are running a Pokemon Go Ultra League Tournament. Each player has to pick a team of 6 pokemon which they will use to battle in a series of best of three games.

Today we have 4 players. Here are the teams that they have chosen.

And here is what happened, after three rounds there was a tie for first place. There were three players with two wins but Jake and Chris had both won 2 matches 2-0, so they would need to play again to see who would be our first champion.

Chris eventually won the day beating Jake 2-0 in the final match. Well done to all our players, here are the final standings ...

Pokemon League at Home

Tomorrow we would be normally running one of our Pokemon League sessions and as we can't be there this week due to the countrywide lock down caused by Covid-19 we will be running a Pokemon Go tournament instead.

For this event we will be matching the currently league format which is ULTRA LEAGUE

The event is scheduled for 4pm, and I will need to know who is playing and hour before that.

Each player will submit a list of 6 pokemon on FB messenger, this will be done by the player with the highest level first and finish with the player with the lowest level. Teams will be posted between 3pm and 4pm. All six of these pokemon must be different.

Players will be match randomly with another player which will be announced on FB messenger by myself. One player will be announced as the challenger and will pick his/her team of 3 pokemon from the list of 6 they provided earlier and challenge the other player who will also pick their team of 3.

Matches will be the best of 3, with players permitted to change their pokemon between games but only from the original 6 they selected.

Results will be reported back via FB messenger and entered into the reporting software by myself.

Rounds will depend on the amount of players and the results will be posted on FB. Hopefully we will repeat the event for future League days and at the end of the season have a local champion.
