Lords of War - The battle of Nuviel

So tonight we are running a small Lords of War Tournament! I I have decided to set the battles on the continent of ....

The map for Nuviel was revealed on the recent Kickstarter campaign and is where the Elves vs Lizardmen set is based! So as an elf player what other location could I use!

For tonight's event as well as looking for our Faction Champion we will also see which is the strongest faction being played! So to enable this to happen I will be breaking the continent map into its various regions and for each win a faction receive they will claim one location.

The event will be a minimum of three rounds (depending on attendance) with each round being a single game! During the game players will receive victory points as follows ...

1. Each Unit Defeated: 1 Victory Point
2. Each Command Card Defeated: +1 Victory Point
3. General Defeated: +2 Victory Points

Plus, for every game won they will get an additional 5 Victory Points.

These scores will be used to work out the top two players after all rounds are played who will then go on to play a best of 3 final match! Players will be required to keep trak of their scores during each game and report it when the game is finished!

Finally, those players who proceed to the final you will get and addition 15 points for second place and 25 for winning! All results will be communicated to Martin and Nick at Black Box and recorded on the KD Games Website.

We will be using the playmat and both the Calvary rules and the new Beserker Rules. The Beserker rule is part of the new expansion due for release next year, but Martin has kindly given us the details ahead of time,

which are ...

If a Berserker eliminates an enemy unit and is not engaged it moves into the space vacated by the unit it just killed.

This means that for the first time we have units that move during the game which should make things very interesting.

The will be a small prize for the winner so I will be asking for an additional £2 to take part in this event making you entace fee £4 for tonight!

Tonight's Games Evening

This week due to the function room being fully booked we are at the Scout Hut in Vale Park so we can not start until 5:30pm , will be charging just £2 for each player as normal.

We will still have Pokemon (for those who still wish to play), and Casual gaming all at the same time. We will go through until 10pm and we will be playing Magic the Gathering, Heroclix and various board games. This is casual play - in other words just come along find someone to play against and play what ever you want.

We will hopefully be joined this week from the guys from Brighton Heroclix, although the change of venue may prevent us seeing them until the Gambit Gameday at the end of the month!

As far as Vanguard League is concerned, we will still be running it for any players that are intereseted, but I could do with confirmation of numbers as soon as possible!

If anyone has not played Stak Bots yet then please ask for a chance to play this great game and if you want to purchase a copy then please hurry as stocks are running low!

Finally for any one that is interesed - I am running a Lords of War event, which I will be posting the format details in a short while - it will be faction based and will intoduce the new bezerker rules for the very first time.

This Weeks KD Magic Night

This week will be running a STANDARD event at the Royal George in Shoreham!

The event will start at 6pm costing £3 and will consist of 4 rounds (3 if less than 8 players) and the top two players will get FNM promo cards!

Registration for the event will start at 5:30pm but players a welcome from 3pm for casual play, trading and deck testing! Please pay on arrival to keep things running smoothly!

Lords of War Tournament

With the new expansion for Lords of War getting its funding this week for its kickstarter compaign what better way to celebrate than to hold a tournament.

The event will be for constructed 'faction' decks - so only one race per deck which will be either Orcs, Dwarves, Elves or Lizardmen. I am looking for between 8 and 12 players and in an ideal world it would be great to get a even amount of players for each faction. At the end of the three rounds there will be a play off for between the top two players to find our champion.

In addition to an individual champion I will be tracking the progress of each faction to see which is the dominant force. (More details on this to follow in the next few days!)

There will be an additional cost to your normal entrance fee of just £2 to cover a prize for the winner!

For those that are looking to make their deck stronger for a particular faction we are selling for a short time only individual faction decks! These will be on sale for £7 and will be available from tonight through until the event!

At the moment I am unsure of the location of the event but will be posting more details in a day or so - for now I just need to get an idea of numbers and factions - so please confirm your intension to attend the event and add a comment to the faction you wish to play!

Love Letter

We have a delivery of a simple but fun little game ...

All of the eligible young men (and many of the not-so-young) seek to woo the princess of Tempest. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, and you must rely on others to take your romantic letters to her. Will yours reach her first?

Love Letter is a game of risk, deduction, and luck for 2–4 players. Your goal is to get your love letter into Princess Annette's hands while deflecting the letters from competing suitors. From a deck with only sixteen cards, each player starts with only one card in hand; one card is removed from play. On a turn, you draw one card, and play one card, trying to expose others and knock them from the game. Powerful cards lead to early gains, but make you a target. Rely on weaker cards for too long, however, and your letter may be tossed in the fire!

KD Games Night

We will have more stock of Stak Bots for sale as I am expecting a delivery tomorrow! This is a great little game and really quick to learn - if you have not tried it already the please ask for a demonstration!

Finally for any one that is interesed - I am planning to run a Return to Ravnica event this week! I am looking for up to 10 players to represent one of the guilds of Ravnica! You will fight for the honour of you guild in three rounds or best of three games to find the eventual champion! To enter I will be asking for an extra £2 to cover prizes for the winner and second place and yo will need a block constructed deck in the colours of your guild! (and only the colours of your guild) There can be only one player for each guild so it is first come first served! Each player will get the banner for there guild to keep once the tournament is finished! If you want to join in the please let me know which guild you wish to represent! (Rakdos is already claimed for Belle!)
