Vanguard Sneak Peak

We will be holding our Sneak Peak next Tuesday night at he Royal George in Shoreham a 6pm.

Entrance fee is £17 and included in this will six boosters, a promo card and a limied edition deck box!

Players will use he six boosers to 'draft' a deck to play in three rounds of a 'swiss' tournament o find the sneak peak champion!

What is Booster Draft Booster Draft?
Booster Draft is a method of play which involves purchasing, opening and building a deck straight away for a game!

Fighters open the packs and choose a card he or she would like to use in a predetermined order (this is known as a “draft”), and decks are built right there and then!

With this unique style, fighters get to experience the thrill of selecting cards, and the joy of playing with a different deck every time!

How to do a Draft?
1. Decide on the seating arrangement around the table with a random method.

2. Each person will open one pack, and check the cards inside that pack.

3. Choose a card and place it face down in front of you. (On you first pick for a pack you will take a trigger unit and one other card) Fighters may not peek at the face down cards.

4. Once everyone has chosen their cards, all fighters will pass the rest of the cards in hand to the person on the left, in a clockwise direction.

5. With the cards received from the fighter on the right, choose a card and place it face down. Once everyone is done, pass the rest of the cards in hand to the left again. Repeat until all the cards have been taken.

6. Between the third and fourth pack, you may check your own face down cards.

Starting from the fourth pack, pass the cards in hand to the person on your
right(anti-clockwise).

7. Once all 6 packs have been opened and passed around, the draft ends. The fight will now begin with the 30 cards chosen and formed as a deck!

Deck building
1. The 30 chosen cards becomes your deck.

2. The rules which restrict only 4 of the same card, as well as only 4 heal triggers in a deck do not apply here.

Game conditions
The basic rules of Cardfight!! Vanguard can be found here:

http://cf-vanguard.com/en/howto/

The rules of a normal cardfight apply, but with the addition of a special rule:

“During a trigger check, if a vanguard or rear-guard of the same clan as the trigger unit is not present on the field, the trigger effects will still activate.”

Therefore, please ignore the clans of the trigger units when choosing cards to build your deck

KD Games Night

The Scout Hut
Vale Park, St Andrew's Rd, Portslade, BN41 1DE

This week there is a change of Venue and a change of towns, we will be meeting at the Gambit Games HQ in Vale Park instead of the Royal George in Shoreham, will be charging just £2 for each player as normal.

We will be starting a bit later at 6:00pm with Pokemon (for those who still wish to play), Vanguard League and Casual gaming all at the same time. We will go through until 10pm and we will be playing Magic the Gathering, Heroclix and various board games. This is casual play - in other words just come along find someone to play against and play what ever you want.

We will hopefully be joined this week from the guys from Brighton Heroclix!

We will be trying out a new game as well called ... Stak Bots!

Last week the attendance was great and hopefully we will have even more games being played - as we are at the scout hut we have pretty much scenery for everthing and plenty of space!!!

For those that have not been before, the Scout Hut is located in Vale Park, which is a short walk from Portslade Station and close to many bus routes. If your unsure of the location have a look at our map or contact me for more detail directions ....

Stak Bots

We have a new gamie in stock from a little company in Chichester which is ...

Fun, quick and sneakily strategic! The next batch of Bots is ready for the production line! Get the expansion and the original game!

Stak Bots is a fun, deceptively simple and sneakily strategic battling card game suitable for all ages.
It can be a quick and casual filler game, or it can take up your evening with repeated battles and customisation.
You can read the instructions here, or there's a 'how to play' video at the bottom of the page.

Each turn you try to do as much damage to your opponents as possible, then leave yourself in a good defensive position for when they retaliate.
About the game:
Every Bot is unique - Some are destructive, some manipulate the other cards. Some are just plain quirky. They all affect the game differently.
It is novel - The game is played vertically; where cards are in the Stak are as important aswhat the cards are.
You get full control - A fully open turn structure lets you combine and repeat actions as much as you are able to on your go.
You are always involved - Your revealed cards can trigger decisions and you can play from hand to defend yourself, even when it's not your turn.
It is quick to learn - But it takes a while to master how the Bots interact and the shifts in power that they create between players.
It grows with you - As you get more competent you can add more Staks, more rules and more Bots. Play how you want.
There is a lot to discover - After playing thousands of games, I am still encountering new situations, combinations and tactics.
Great multi-player game dynamics - Plead rationally with your attackers, victimise players, bear grudges and expose others' weaknesses.
You can read in more detail about the features of the game on the front page of the Stak Bots website

Number of players: 1+ players or teams. Play solo, free for all or in teams.
Recommended age: On the box it says 11+, but we've taught kids as young as 5! The younger ones don't necessarily understand the strategies, but they love destroying each other's Bots! There is no upper age limit.
Time to play: 5mins - 20mins per game. Once you are familiar with the game it plays very fast. The more players and Staks there are the slower it will be as the decisions get trickier!

In the Box:
Everything you need to play, for up to 5 players! 60 x Bot cards featuring the 16 Bots shown above. Full instructions (including game variations, glossary, guide to each Bot)

A couple of players already have copies and will be hoping to play a few games this coming Tuesday. I also have a few copies to sell at the great price of £9.99
