Lorcana Hyperia City Prerelease

The new set for Disney Lorcana is nearly here. We will be holding pre-release events next Thursday evening from 7pm.

Tickets are currently available on our website.

The format that we will be using for this event is Pack Rush.

How Pack Rush Pre-Releases Organised?

The Full Pre-Release Box Variant: Players buy a standard Hyperia City Pre-Release Box (which contains 6 boosters). Instead of playing standard Sealed (which uses all 6 packs for a 40-card deck), the event is structured into sequential rounds where players open 2 packs at a time to play Pack Rush.

There will also be the option to play 2-Pack Micro Event: Players register using a lower entry fee (price of 2 packs), open exactly two booster packs of Hyperia City, and immediately shuffle them together to play. (There will be no prize packs for this format)

Core Pack Rush Rules Reminder

  • The format’s specific adjustments are:
  • No Ink Restrictions: You ignore traditional ink-type deckbuilding rules and play every card you pull.
  • Setup: Set aside the two marketing/puzzle insert cards to use as your starting inkwell. You start the game with 2 ink active, and you can still play a card from your hand to go to 3 ink on Turn 1.
  • Hand Size: Draw a starting hand of 5 cards instead of the usual 7.
  • Win Condition: The first player to reach 15 lore wins the game.
  • Decking Out: If your deck runs out of cards, simply shuffle your discard pile to create a new deck and keep playing.

MTG Commander Party

Tonight is our commander party event for Reality Fracture. It is a special set of rules for a 4 player commander game. Everyone that takes party in this event which is completely free will get a special promo card which is...

REALITY, FRACTURED
Jace’s meddling with the very essence of reality has created a dimensional rift!

After all players have kept their opening hand, each player exiles cards from the bottom of their library until they exile a nonland card, then puts that card in “The Rift,” an area within easy reach of each player.

• Once during each of your turns, you may cast a spell from The Rift, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast it.

• Whenever you cast a spell this way, empower Jace X, where X is that spell’s mana value. (Put X loyalty counters on a Jace token you control. If you don’t control one, first create a blue Jace planeswalker token with “1: Surveil 1” and “3: Draw a card.”)

• Immediately after a card is cast from The Rift, that card’s owner exiles cards from the bottom of their library until they exile a nonland card, then puts that card in The Rift.

JACE, FRACTURED
Reality’s meddling with the very essence of Jace has created a delusional rift!

• At the beginning of the game, shuffle the Jace Deck and put the top three cards face up in the Jace Abilities area to the right.

 • Jace tokens have all loyalty abilities in the Jace Abilities area in addition to their other abilities. • Whenever a player activates an ability in the Jace Abilities area, remove it and replace it with the top card of the Jace Deck.

LIFE TOTALS, FRACTURED

• Whenever a Jace token dies, its controller loses 5 life

Fishersgate Flyers Match Report

Fishersgate Flyers 2 - Barnham Trojans 0

Here is teaqm manager Kevin's after match report...

"Well not at our brilliant best today but still worthy winners. It was clear from the first whistle their game plan was to keep us out and rely on the big goalkeeper kick down the middle and run onto that. A very simple plan that gave us a lot to think about. The defenders always had to stay switched on and reduced them to one dangerous moment.
It was nice to score the early goal and from there you may have thought we would go on and score more but testament to their back line who worked hard to keep us out.
Goals from Scarlett Peck and Bella today settled it. A shot from April that came off the underside of the bar and bounced over/on the line will still be debated for years to come. Not given this time but fortunately not pivotal.
Worthy mentions for Scarlett Simmons who showed us she can play another position and fill in if required, and Bella who never stopped running and trying to fashion an opportunity.
Sign of a good team to win when everything is not firing.
Great performance from POTM Scarlett Peck who grabbed a goal and was always a threat down the wing 👏👏
Thanks Alex for reffing, it  really does help us out.
Also thanks to Majid.
2 away games coming up with next week the long journey to Tunbridge Wells and Langton Green.
Thanks all, see you Thursday ⚽👍"

Fishersgate Flyers

KD Games is proud to announce that we are a sponsor for Fishersgate Flyers under 13 girls football team.

Here is the match report form their manager Kevin for Sunday;s game against the Linfield Leopards which our team won 7-0

"An improved performance with the ball this week with the girls finding their passes. Very nice to get the goals out play deserved, all different types as well, showing our adaptability.

We kept the same formation today that we started with last week and rewarded the subs from last week with starts due to impact off the bench.

From minute one we were on it, their keeper knew she was going to be busy from being peppered several times in the first few minutes.

It felt like it was just going to be a matter of time. They had number 11 who was a threat on the break and Noomi made a great save at 0-0. Then the award of the penalty to us started the scoring off.

We were asking the girls to get wide when we have the ball and we saw that more this week. This allowed us to be expansive with our play and attack them down the wings. All the wingers used today were effective, both Scarlett's causing problems with their energy and tireless running. Scarlett Peck ending up with 2 assists. Good goals along the way from Bella who got 2 and Jasmine also getting 2. Scarlett Simmons ended with 2, one of them particularly special with a drag back and smash into the far corner. Goal of the day has to be Aprils 25 yard screamer that went top bins. A sweet strike to cap off a terrific display of midfield prowess and fully deserving of the POTM.

Thanks to Finn for an awesome job reffing. I did enjoy you giving a free kick against your sister, she didn't 😁

Cheers to Mark for running the line 🙏

A very good win and some signs we are getting our game together.

Cup next week versus Barnham at home.

Well done supporters."

Cyberpunk TCG Weekly Play

Weekly in-store play is the foundation of any great Organized Play program. It’s where new and returning players can come together to make new friends, test out their latest decks, and take the first steps in their constructed TCG journey.

For the Cyberpunk TCG they have created the Night City Brawl.

Night City Brawls are weekly constructed format tournaments.. They’re designed to be fun, accessible, and rewarding for players of all experience levels. These are due to start in November and we very much hope to be part of this great program of events.

What do you need to play in a Night City Brawl?

Because Night City Brawls are constructed events, you’ll need to bring your own Cyberpunk TCG deck with you to play.

You’ll also need a set of 6 polyhedral dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20) to use as your Gig dice. If you don’t have these, we have a wide range available and are also available in Cyberpunk TCG Starter Decks, Beta Event Kits, and Pre-release kits.

The final thing you’ll need is a Cyberpunk TCG Account, linked to a Melee.gg account. Melee is the platform we use to organize and run Organized Play tournaments. This will enable you to sign up for your Brawl event, see who your opponents are during the tournament, and log your game results after each match.

What format are Night City Brawl tournaments?

It has been recommend that all stores run their Night City Brawl tournaments using the constructed best-of-three format. This means players must bring their own constructed decks, and will play a best-of-three set of games against their opponents to determine a winner each round.

The number of rounds played will depend on the number of players in the tournament.

What do I get for participating in a Night City Brawl?

Now we’re getting to the really good stuff.

To support Night City Brawl events, we will hope to be receiving promotional packs. Which will be 8 participation packs and one champion pack per week.

Night City Brawl Participation packs contain three random cards, from a pool of 18 full-art Iconic Frame foil promos. Here’s the full pool of promo cards included in Welcome to Night City Brawl packs:

Commander Party - Marvel Super Heroes

This Thursday evening we will be hosting the first MTG Super Heroes Commander Party event.

This will be part of the normal commander night that we run, as an additional fun format the players will be able to play the following additional rules.

SET UP

Before the game begins, set the Super Heroes in the middle of the table. Players may include the Super Heroes from the Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel’s Spider￾Man Commander Party as additional heroic options if they wish.

Starting with the youngest player and going clockwise, each player chooses a Super Hero and places it in the command zone. Set the remaining Super Heroes aside. They won’t be used in this game.

Set the Infinity Stone chart in the centre of the table where all players can see it.

SUPER HEROES

The Super Villains are vanquished and the Super Heroes have captured the Infinity Stones! It’s now time to determine the ultimate champion in a cosmically charged confrontation!

• Starting on third turn of the player who goes first, the Infinity Stones become active. From that point on, at the beginning of each player’s end step, that player rolls a six sided die to determine which Stone’s effect happens.
• Each Stone requires something to reap its reward. If you successfully follow its first instruction, an ability will trigger. Players may respond to this ability. As the ability resolves, you’ll put an infinity counter on your Super Hero and enjoy that Stone’s unique benefit.
• Careful, heroes! Vast rewards await you, but wielding the Infinity Stones carries immense risk. Once the die is cast, you must do as Stones command, whether the result is to your liking or not.

INFINITY STONES

• Super Hero cards aren’t permanents and can’t be removed, destroyed, or otherwise vanquished.
• During the game, Super Hero cards will receive infinity counters from the effects on the Infinity Stone chart. This is the only way infinity counters may be added. Other effects, such as proliferating, won’t work.
• Each Super Hero card has two abilities. The first is always active. The infinity ability becomes active once a Super Hero card has three infinity counters on it

This is a completely free event and players can choose to either play this format or not. Anyone that does take part in this fun format will receive a promo card ...

There will be a second opportunity to play this format in August and if you want to do it twice there will be a difference card available next time.

A Tiny Tin Tale

This week we have some new titles from Bedsit Games, along with Twitten which we shared details with you last week we also have two 'Tiny Tin Tales'. These are small games that are set in the same world as Paupers Ladder.

First up we have The Crows of Coppershell Bay.

Prepare yourself for a tiny tin adventure set in the coastal town of Coppershell Bay. You play a lowly skinner at the local maggot farm who has 3 days to pay back their debt of 60 Gems to the local Crows gang. You’ll spend these days exploring the town trying trying to earn money, the nights resting, eating and working extra shifts at the farm. Any time between you’ll be taking on quests for the miners’ guild, venturing into the dangerous tunnels underground.

The Crows of Coppershell Bay is a game of luck pushing, coin counting, dungeon crawling and village living for 1 player. It's the first in the Tiny Tin Tales series, a collection of portable games set in the world of Brighthelm.

This is the second edition of The Crows of Coppershell Bay. For a round up of the tweaks and balances in this edition, pop over here.

Secondly we have The Siege of Shaddis Horne.

The fairies have gone mad. Their once quaint magic threatens all of Brighthelm. The golems they created to protect the villages are now tearing them apart.

Now the little forest town of Shaddis Horne, with its elemental college, is under siege. The fairies know that without this source of magic, Brighthelm’s chemists will be dealt a severe blow. They must be stopped.

Your Hawkguard soldiers have been sent to repel the fairies and their minions, inspire the villagers and keep Shaddis Horne standing until the siege is over. It won't be easy.

The Siege of Shaddis Horne is a co-operative resource gathering tower defence game for 1-4 players, with a smattering of push-your-luck dungeon crawling to boot.

We have both of these games on Sale plus they are available in our games library for either playing in the shop for free or renting for just £2 per night.

Twittens

New from Bedsit Games, the creators of BN1 and Paupers Ladder comes Twittens

Twittens is an old Sussex word to describe the little alleyways and lanes that run between houses and fields. They thread their way through towns and suburbs like veins, walled by red bricks, garden fencing and rusted chicken wire. Elsewhere they're known as ginnels, snicks and vennels.

Twittens is a tile laying game for 1-5 players, set in an everyday English suburb. Work your way through the seasons exploring your local twittens, discovering their houses, wildlife, allotments, playgrounds, railways and electrical substations. Complete your wanderings and get home in time for tea.

Here's a quick introduction to Twittens. I take a few turns and explain how all the different elements score work together.

Coming Soon

Here are a few games that will be coming to KD GAMES later this year ...

Codenames: Critical Role Adventures is a unique take on Codenames inspired by the Critical Role universe. It’s a fully cooperative version of the game where one GM (game master) leads their party through perilous missions, each with its own twist and take on the classic Codenames rules and featuring a new set of themed words. Play the game in three separate campaigns, choose from seven Critical Role characters, and, by leveling them up, unlock new abilities and equip items to use during missions.
In Drillers, players explore an abandoned mine using their mechs, trying to find and excavate anything useful or valuable left behind by a forgotten mining corporation. Each level of the mine brings new opportunities and new challenges as fuel runs low and decisions become tighter. By collecting cards, players unlock new actions and improve the drilling capabilities of their mechs—inspired by iconic real-life vehicles—to push their operations deeper underground.

You’ve made new blankets for your cats, but they want their old ones back! Remake the original patterns quickly before the yowling begins!

Each round, a goal card is revealed for everyone to see. All players try to recreate that pattern as quickly as possible by weaving threads on their personal player boards. Players grab a cat token as soon as they finish. The player who fails to complete their blanket before the tokens run out receives a penalty, unless another player wrongfully claimed a token with an incorrect pattern.

It’s a unique, pattern-matching puzzle game for friends and families alike.

As the frosty days grow shorter, your cozy café becomes the ultimate refuge for customers seeking comfort from the cold. In Coffee Rush: Winter, the high-stakes barista business returns with a seasonal chill, challenging players to balance the frantic pace of peak hours with the delicate art of crafting winter specialties. Fulfilling orders earns you precious "like" cards and points, but fall behind, and those disgruntled customers will leave "dislikes" that count against your final score. Whether the game ends because the order deck is depleted or a barista accumulates five penalties, only the player who manages the winter rush with the most efficiency will be crowned the top barista.
