Art Competition

Our summer art competition has come to a close. There was quite a bit of last minute drawing in our Pokemon Club this morning. We had lots of entries and there were some truly magnificent pictures. Judging was extremely difficult and many thanks to Toxi and Lily for helping me to select the 5 winners.

Everyone that entered got a packet of Scarlet and Violet and the top 5 all got a little extra. Thank you to all the children that took the time to draw their favourite Pokemon, it was really nice to see how creative you could all be.

Here are the entries that we received...

As you can see the standard was very high, but we had to narrow it down to just the top 5, which after a lot of changing minds we eventually did. The final winners were as follows...

Congratulations to Freya, Oscar, Alula, Ren and Rufus. The competition was a great success and we very much hope to do another one on the run up to Christmas.

Pokemon Series 3 Prize Packs and beyond!

The new season of Pokemon Prize packs is almost here. We will start handing them out from Tuesday the 15th August and the season will last all the way through the next 6 months until 14th February 2024.

Both our junior league and masters league events will operate as they did this series. This means that when players attend one of our junior Pokemon clubs they can record up to 2 games played on our club leader board and when they get to the stars (at the ninth and tenth games played) get given a prize pack.

At our masters night which is every other Friday from 7pm, players will have a choice of playing casually for free or paying £5 entry fee to receive one prize pack.

All Pokemon Rocks that are handed in to the shop after 14th August will be rewarded with the new series 3 packs as well.

As a special celebration of the Pokemon World Championship 2023, which is being held in Yokohama from August 11th - 13th, we will be running a special free event on Saturday 12th August at 2pm. Every player that attends will get a free series 3 prize pack a few days early and the winners in each age group will get extra packs. This is free to anyone that wants to come, but they will need to register online and have a standard deck to be able to play. There will be no championship points awarded for this event.

The first sanctioned event that we will be running where the series 3 packs will be issued is our League Challenge which is on the 19th August (spaces are limited) and there will be an additional chance to get packs at our Gym Leader Challenge which is being held as part of Conquest Sunday at the end of the month.

Gambit Sunday Review

Last Sunday was Gambit Sunday at KD Games. A it was a great day enjoyed by both experienced club veterans and new players alike.

After setting up the initial scenery there was a pause for a brief coffee and chat.

Following that battle commenced with some Kill Team with Space Marines taking on the Sisters of Battle and a small 500 point game of Age of Sigmar.

We also had a few people arrive that were keen to learn how to play Pokemon TCG which we were happy to teach.

There was a good amount of Bloodbowl being played as well as the alternative versions of dungeon bowl and gutter bowl.

The afternoon was broken up with a simple game of Bag of Dungeon with is made by Gunpowder Studios who will hopefully be with us for the Conquest Sunday at the end of August.

Then it was back to Kill Team and Age of Sigmar for most of the afternoon's remaining battles.

The day finished with a game if Warcry played on the very first scenery we had set up in the morning!

It was a good say with a great atmosphere.  In total there were 14 players with a great mix of young players and experienced players. Good to see several new faces as well. I look forward to the mid month one in Sunday. A full list of Sunday dates can be found on our website.
