March of the Machine League

League used to be a regular feature following a release of a new set. It was great fun to play and provided another way to enjoy the cards from the new set. So for the last few sets we have been running this format. From today, league is back! This time there are a couple of additional promo cards as well.

How it works:- You get 3 draft packs of March of the Machine to build your minimum 30 card deck when you start the event.

- You may play as many other players entered in the league as you want once per week.

- Each week you may purchase an additional pack to add to your pool and power up your deck.

- Each 3 game losses you take you may purchase an additional pack to add to your pool and power up your deck. You may do this once each week.

- The league lasts 4 weeks.

- Each week the minimum deck size will increase by 5 cards (30,35,40 and finally 45)

- All match results are recorded and reported on Discord and your deck must remain in the store until the event is finished.

- Players can earn one promo card for joining the league which is ...

- Players can join the league in any week and in addition to purchasing the initial pool of 3 pack and purchase an additional pack for each week they have missed.

If you want to join in with our fun MTG League then come along this Saturday at 2pm and get started

At the end of the four weeks everyone will get a Annex Sentry promo card, we will issue a Koth, Fire Resistance to the overall winner and the top eight will also get a Memory Deluge

Our top ten board game sellers of last year - Number 6!

Last year we had one of the best years for board games sales, but what were our top ten sellers? For the next few weeks we will take the time to look at each one and give you a brief overview of the rules.

Continuing today with a really simple but classic card game..

Number 6

All of the eligible young men (and many of the not-so-young) seek to woo the princess of Tempest. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, and you must rely on others to take your romantic letters to her. Will yours reach her first?

Love Letter is a game of risk, deduction, and luck for 2–4 players. Your goal is to get your love letter into Princess Annette's hands while deflecting the letters from competing suitors. From a deck with only sixteen cards, each player starts with only one card in hand; one card is removed from play. On a turn, you draw one card, and play one card, trying to expose others and knock them from the game. Powerful cards lead to early gains, but make you a target. Rely on weaker cards for too long, however, and your letter may be tossed in the fire!

MTG Oathbreaker Format

What is Oathbreaker?

Many Planeswalkers took oaths to defend and protect the inhabitants of the multiverse. To fight each other, these oaths will be broken.

In Oathbreaker, each 60 card singleton deck is led by a Planeswalker designated as that deck’s Oathbreaker. Each deck has a Signature Spell that falls within the Oathbreaker’s color identity. Both of these cards reside in the command zone.

The Oathbreaker variant uses all the normal rules for a Magic game, with a few additions.

The Basic Rules.
  • Oathbreaker is multiplayer format, played with 60 card singleton decks (only one copy of each card, no limit on basic lands).
  • You start the game with your Oathbreaker and Signature Spell in the command zone.
  • Your starting life is 20 .
  • Your “Oathbreaker” is a Planeswalker. Its color identity determines the contents of your deck.
  • Your “Signature Spell” must be an instant or sorcery card that falls within your Oathbreaker’s color identity.
  • You cast your Oathbreaker from your command zone.
  • Your Signature Spell may only be cast if your Oathbreaker is on the battlefield under your control.
  • Both your Oathbreaker and Signature Spell are subject to “command zone tax”. These taxes are tracked individually, i.e. casting your Oathbreaker doesn’t cause your Signature Spell to cost more.
  • To find out more, read the full rules which are on the Oathbreaker site.
What is banned?
This is the official list of banned cards from the Oathbreaker Rules Committee. This list was updated on 3/15/2023. The list is maintained on the Oathbreaker site
