Get a Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames Build & Battle Box Early

Enjoy quick games and quick pulls with a box that includes a 40-card deck and four booster packs.

The latest Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames, arrives November 14, 2025, but you can visit KD Games to play with it early!

Starting November 8, 2025, we will begin selling the Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames Build & Battle Box, giving fans a chance to have a Prerelease battle and experience the latest expansion before its official release date. To find a Prerelease event details and reserve a space head to our website.

The Prerelease format allows players to compete using a 40-card deck with four prize cards set aside at the start of play, as opposed to a 60-card deck with six prize cards. This format is perfect for introducing new players to the exciting world of the Pokémon TCG with quick, fun games, and it also gives seasoned players a window into all that Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames has to offer. Due to the limited card pool and the variance of cards that can be acquired in a Build & Battle Box, Prerelease events are also a great opportunity to flex your creative deck-building muscles.

Each Build & Battle Box includes four Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames booster packs and a 40-card ready-to-play deck featuring key cards from current and prior sets, as well as one of four unique foil promo cards. Depending on which promo card you get, you could be playing with the infernally slashing Ceruledge, the limit-breaking Zacian, the sandy flapping Flygon, and the tricky Toxtricity.

Whether you’re new to the game or an experienced player, you’re in for some quick and fun battles with cards from the new Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames expansion! If you’re not able to make it to a Prerelease event, these Build & Battle Boxes will be available for purchase when the expansion officially launches (if we have any left)

Star Wars Unlimited - Secrets of Power Prerelease

WHAT IS THE SEALED FORMAT

The format of Prerelease events, sealed play combines the limited card pool aspect of draft play with the more open-ended deckbuilding approach of constructed play. Like draft play, everyone starts the event off on equal footing, and like constructed play, this format gives you the opportunity to let your deckbuilding skills shine.

At the beginning of a sealed play event, you open six booster packs. You must use the cards within those packs to build a deck. Just like in draft play, your minimum draw deck size is 30 cards, and you can include any number of copies of a card as you want (so long as they were all acquired within those six booster packs). Also like with draft, you can use any common base you want, regardless of what was in your packs. However, if you want to use a rare base, it must have been one of the cards from those six packs.

For leader cards, you typically will only be able to use the ones from your packs, just like with everything else. However, for prerelease events in which you utilize a Prerelease Box, the promo leader cards that come in that box are also available as options for your sealed deck.

Like with draft, you can change up the contents of your sealed play deck in between rounds as much as you like, so long as you only utilize the cards that were in your six booster packs.

There you have it. Sealed play is fantastic for testing your deckbuilding skills while also growing your collection. And since prerelease events for each set feature this format, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try out sealed play for yourself each time a new set comes along!

Battlefields 2025 - A 40k Narative Tournament

The planet Kroatoa-324, a lush jungle death world, was once host to an imperial mining colony who sort to prosper from the planet’s rich mineral deposits until 400 years ago, when the sector was hit by violent, unrelenting warp storms that severed all communication and space lanes to the planet and its colonists. Now the storms have calmed, Kroatoa-324 shines like a beacon of opportunity to any who are bold enough to stake their claim on this harsh, ruthless world. There is no sign of the colonists, only empty overgrown outposts and the occasional bloody stain. The attention of many waring factions have been drawn to this new opportunity and even now send advance detachments to secure a foothold

Our armies have gathered, Adeptus Mechanicus , Dark Angels, Demons, Tau, Thousand Sons, Space Wolves, Custodes and Fallen Dark Angels have arrived in the outer atmosphere and currently planning their assault on Kroatoa-324

CHAPTER 1 “The Clash of patrols”

Vanguard forces touch down via teleportarium, jet pack insertion, drop pods or other more esoteric means. As several factions start to establish staging areas within the jungle some inevitably run into one another, and the bloodshed begins.

The Space Wolves have encountered the Tau at the deserted mining compound, the Fallen Dark Angels have dropped into the outskirts on the jungle where they have met forces from the Adeptus Mechanicus, Demons have been seen by the Thousand Sons and the Custodes have encountered the Dark Angels in what is left of the cities of Kroatoa

CHAPTER 2: “The forward outpost”

Licking their wounds from first contact, the enemy’s FOB has been identified. Warriors have been dispatched under the cover of darkness to set charges, spoil food supplies, desecrate demonic rituals and any other acts of sabotage to hinder the enemy’s advance in this region

In the cover of night the Custodes are attacked by the Space Wolves in the overgrown jungle, the Demons take the oportunity to strike the Fallen Dark Angels in the old processing factory, the Tau are surprised to find what left of the Thousand Sons in the dark ruins of the city and Dark Angels having moved from the city to find refuge in the old compounds at the edge of the jungle are ambushed by the Adeptus Mechanicus

The Fallen Dark Angels stood firm against the onslaught of the demons. Bravely fighting against the horde, their terminator armour protecting them long enough to see off the attack.

The Tau did not favour so well against the Thousand Sons, the demon prince proving too much for pathfinders and kroot.

Then from the rubble of the city, the Thousand Sons still regrouping from seeing off the Tau, stop to witness the metalic warriors raise from the ground. The long sleeping enemy keen to remove the invading force from existence.

The Space Wolves stuck hard and slaughted many of the Custodes, but couldnt completely overhelm them and dispite being almost completely destroyed the Custodes held firm and gained a victory.

In the compound, the Dark Angels retaliated against the Adeptus Mechanicus force. Despite their skill on the battlefield they just couldnt fend off the night attack.

CHAPTER 3 : "A Display of might"

Dawn breaks on the smouldering embers of the previous night’s destruction. Enraged warlords rally their troops for a swift rebuttal. Identifying sites of either strategic or religious importance to the enemy, they stake their claim and call out challenges to the enemy leaders: face me, or your sites of precious value shall burn.

Having survived the Necrons the Thousand Sons call out the Space Wolves for one final battle in the former capital of Kroatoa-324 whilst on the other side of the city what is left of the Demon horde comes across the Adeptus Mechanicus. All four of these armies whilst unable to claim the rich mineral deposites for the planet, maybe able to secure the less important trophy of controlling the city and maybe be able to rebuild for the future.

In the outskirts of the jungle the Tau are making their way back to the evacuation point, heavily wounded from their meetings with the Thousand Sons and Space Wolves. There only objective now is survival. Their final challenge is the Dark Angels, who just want one more chance to please the Emporer and the Tau may give them the battle honours they feel they deserve or at least a glorious death in the name of the Lion

The real battle however is in the former Imperial mining complex, the place that has the most will give its controller access to the hidden wealth held in the core of the planet by the violent warp storms that still occasionally protect it from invading forces. There the Custodes will try and outwit the Fallen Dark Angels. Only one army can win, only one general can go down in the texts of history, but which one, will it be strategy of luck that wins the day?

Many forces had rushed to Kroatoa-324 when they detected the warp storms calm enough for ships to approach, many had perished in the atmosphere and eight had landed on the surface. Now the storms were returning for the victor a temporary protection form future invaders would be granted, but only if they can secure the site and retreat to the deep mines. For the forces fighting in the city they need to secure their positions in time and hope that they survive the storms hoping the fight another day. For the other forces their only hope of survival would be to escape and to get that they would need to fight for it.

The Thousand Sons used their flamers to great benefit to prevent the Space Wolves from claiming the city, The Space Wolves charged across the ruins and this time didn't quite have the speed to assault their Choas enemy and possibly more importantly out run the deadly flames that roared towards them.

The Dark Angels pursued the Tau through the Jungle, slaughtering almost all of them before both forces withdrew from the planet and headed home, the Dark Angels taking some solis in the final victory.

On the other side of the city the Adeptus Mechanicus cleared the sector of all traces of the Demon hord and started to take cover in whatever ruins they could find that still had some decent structure, the Thousand Sons that had been spotted on the otherside of the city would have to wait for another day.

At the mining compound both armies fought hard but in the end the Fallen Dark Angels proved too strong for the Custodes and forced them to retreate to their ships. Having secured the mine the Fallen Dark Angel force retreated below the gound in to the deep mines. For now they had got what they came for and victory however short was theirs. Maybe the Thousand Sons or the Adeptus Mechanicus would attack from the city or maybe the Custodes would return with a bigger force. Only time would tell, celebrations would have to wait, for now seek cover, the storm was coming...

What Is Magic Presents: A Villainous Halloween?

Magic Presents: A Villainous Halloween is a special Commander event scheduled between October 31 to November 2, offering a unique twist on the popular Magic format. Players bring their own Commander decks and, at the start of the game, secretly choose a villain card, each representing a classic villain from Magic’s history with its own alternate win condition.

As the game unfolds, players can work toward their secret objective. Once a player meets the condition on their chosen villain card, they reveal it—and from that point on, each opponent loses the game at the end of their own turn, unless they can stop the villain in time.

As a reward for participating, players can take home a pack of event materials (while supplies last), making it a memorable and replayable experience beyond the event. Each pack supports four players, but the expectation is that each participant will receive their own pack to bring the fun home.

Magic Presents: Friendly Neighborhood Draft

Magic Presents: Friendly Neighborhood Draft is a special in-store Magic event series, running from September 26 to November 13, 2025. It spotlights the Pick-Two Draft format—a streamlined, four-player drafting experience ideal for small groups and casual play. This program features the Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man set and is great for all players, experienced or new to the format while making drafting fast, friendly, and accessible.

Unlike traditional eight-player drafts, Pick-Two Drafts allow each player to select two cards per pick, reducing the number of participants needed while maintaining strategic depth and fun.

Games are played in pods with a minimum of four players; we recommend breaking players into pods based on attendance this way:
3–7 players: 1 pod
8–11 players: 2 pods
12–15 players: 3 pods

Players then compete in two rounds of Swiss. The undefeated (2–0) player from each pod should receive the event promo card (while supplies last).

So grab a few friends and speak to us about booking a table to enjoy some Spiderman MTG

Blood Bowl Sevens Trophies

Our Blood Bowl Sevens League is now approaching its final couple of weeks so it is time to show off the trophies. With the all the group stages now complete I have been able to work out which of our teams will be winning the Golden Gloves Trophy for scoring the most touchdowns, the Carnage Cup for causing the most injuries, the Slippery Cleats Cup for the team that failed the most dash attempts and the Secret Agent Dagger for the team that achieved the most secret missions. With all of these categories any tie breaks were decided by secret missions (with the obvious exception of the Secret Agent Dagger of course).

However before we announce any of those it is time to see the top two prizes the winner cup and the runners up cup and of course the Champion of the Gutter...

The KD GAMES BB7's Champions Cup

The KD GAMES BB7's Runner Up

The Champion of the Gutter

All of the above are still being fought for, we have had our Quarter finals already where Barry beat Nick, Vince beat Jake, Clive beat Richard and Mark beat Aaron which means there are just four players left and only one can be the winner.

Heading for the gutter was everyone else with a brief stop in the dungeons. Group one have played and Gary managed to scrape through against Jake, Hazy and Kevin but the other group comprising of Rob, Tom, Ben and Charlie have yet to play and still have a chance.

Some players have already won a trophy though and the are...

The Secret Spy Dagger is awarded to the team that has completed the most secret missions during the group stage of the league. These were randomly assigned at the beginning of every game and offered the teams something extra to go for as well as providing the tie breakers. This year the sneakiest team was The Ragnarock Mining Company managed by Charlie. They completed 12 missions the only team to be in double figures.

The Carnage Cup is always a crowd pleaser, teams that want this award need to be aggressive in almost anything that the do and not be afraid to put the boot in even if it causes might upset the ref. This year three teams fought for this and although The Ragnarock Mining Company and Da Green Knuckles both did well our winner this year caused 17 casualties in 6 matches and that was The Norland Lions managed by Aaron

The Golden Gloves trophy is one of the hardest trophies to get and although some of the quickest teams often do well in this catagory such as the The New Rat Giants with their gutter runs and defending champions Boneyard Deadbeats with their ghouls, this year one team really went for all the opportunities to score and despite this risky style of play were the only team to have no casualties in their squad. Scoring an impressive 12 touchdowns in 6 matches the Wilderness Wanderers managed by Barry win this award.

Our last award is probably the one that no manage wants. It goes to the team that has really tried to "go for it" but ever so often ended up with players flat on their face. The fans love to see players push themselves to the limit and this years winner has certainly done that. The Dissident Disorder managed by Clive managed to fall over 4 times in 6 matches whilst trying to go that extra mile.
