What Is Magic Presents: A Villainous Halloween?

 

Magic Presents: A Villainous Halloween is a special Commander event scheduled between October 31 to November 2, offering a unique twist on the popular Magic format. Players bring their own Commander decks and, at the start of the game, secretly choose a villain card, each representing a classic villain from Magic’s history with its own alternate win condition.

As the game unfolds, players can work toward their secret objective. Once a player meets the condition on their chosen villain card, they reveal it—and from that point on, each opponent loses the game at the end of their own turn, unless they can stop the villain in time.

As a reward for participating, players can take home a pack of event materials (while supplies last), making it a memorable and replayable experience beyond the event. Each pack supports four players, but the expectation is that each participant will receive their own pack to bring the fun home.

We’ve got just the event for you! Play! Pokémon Stores will be eligible to host Pokéween events from October 1–31, 2025, that celebrate all things Halloween! We will be running our event on Saturday 25th at 11am as part of our normal Pokemon Club

Connecting with your local Pokémon community is already a treat, but things get even sweeter—all attendees will receive a tantalizing Trick or Trade BOOster pack, a Pokémon GO code that awards seriously sweet Rare Candy alongside an Incense or Lucky Egg at random, and an eerily stamped Spiritomb promo card that also features the Play! Pokémon logo. 

Play! Pokémon League/Cup events are a great opportunity to meet other Pokémon fans, and you can enjoy a Pokéween event in any way you like! Come through with a boo-tiful Pokémon costume, show off some of your scariest cards, or perhaps strike fear into your newfound friends’ hearts with your terrifying battle skills.

Commander Party: Duskmourn: House of Horror

Commander Party is a Commander event where players are immersed in the Duskmourn: House of Horror setting and story. The special rules for Commander Party are designed specifically around the theme of the set, found nowhere else.

These events are ideal for players of all experiences, where they participate in a casual in-store event and get absorbed in the world of Magic.

At Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander Party, players will explore a haunted house, spending mana to unlock new rooms that grant different effects to the players and the game. Will they make it out alive? Who will be the last one standing? Players will have to persist if they want to survive the house of ever-shifting horrors!

Halloween Special Offer

 Although some of our MTG fans may have missed out on the Duskmourn House of Horror Trick or Treat Sealed event last Sunday, there is still chance to get a special Halloween Treat.

Anyone spending £30 or over on MTG products between today and this coming Saturday will get a special Halloween treat bag for free (while stocks last). This bag will contain a few older MTG promo cards (which will be randomly distributed in the bags, and although everyone will get 4 cards they could be pretty much anything.) The bag will or include either 1 Innistrad Midnight Hunt Collectors booster or 4 Theros Beyond Death Draft Boosters.

These bags will be randomly allocated when you make your purchase and there is a very limited amount of bags available. 

With a new delivery today of Duskmourn Play Boosters, we now have boosters for all of the latest three sets. Whether is woodland creatures, cowboy themed or house of horror that interests you there really is no better time to buy some MTG products.

MTG - Trick or Treat

Celebrate Halloween with a spook-tacular event that invites players to participate in a Sealed Deck event with a chilling twist. 

Participating players who dare to register for the Trick event with their Wizards Account will receive a Trick Event Goodie Bag containing 4 Duskmourn: House of Horror Play Boosters and 2 random Magic: The Gathering boosters, which may be Play, Draft, Set, or Collector Boosters 

With their goodie bags in hand, players will then create a 40-card deck from the contents of the boosters and begin facing off in one-on-one matches with other participants! 

All players will begin the game with the following emblem, found in their bags: "Whenever an enchantment enters the battlefield under your control, choose one: Trick – create a treasure token. Treat – create a food token."

Halloween Innistrad Event

This Halloween as part of the last Sunday of the month Gambit Games event, we will be hosting a special constructed deck tournament. 

Players will need to bring a 60 card (minimum) deck with sideboard (no more that 15 cards) which can contain cards from the following sets ...

• INNISTRAD
• DARK ASCENSION
• AVACYN RESTORED
• SHADOWS OVER INNISTRAD
• ELDRITCH MOON 
• INNISTRAD MIDNIGHT HUNT

Other than basic land only cards from these sets can be used. These are all six of the MTG sets which are based on the plane of Innistrad and are ideally suited for a halloween event.

The tournament will be open to up to 16 players and will cost £5 (which covers the entrance into the Gambit event).   Everyone that enters will receive a special Lotus Bloom promo card just for playing and there will be other promo cards given to the first and second place.

 

The event will start at 1pm and should finish around 5pm. Tickets can be booked on either the Gambit Games UK website or our KD Games site.

There will also be a special MTG Innistrad cube in the morning, which will start at 9am. This cube contains cards from the original 5 Innistrad sets and is purely for fun. The cube event will be open for 12 players. This event will also cost £5 but if players want to play both events it will cost £8.
