At KD Games we love games and are always happy to teach new players the rules for most games. 

Currently we offer bookable slots to learn some of the best Trading Card Games and Skirmish Tabletop Games. These are completely free and take about 1 hour. Some games such as Lorcana and Pokemon good for all ages including children as young as 7, others are more suited to older players, but all are great fun to play.

TNT: Kill Team Week 4

Week 4 of our Kill Team League saw a couple of new players and some really close games.

It was great to have 10 players, which is our busiest event night so far. 

With the addition of two extra players this increases the amount of potential games/opponents. The league will still last for 8 weeks though, so we are at the mid point. Players are welcome to make their games up on other days, such as the weekends. (Please check with me to make sure tables are available)

Halo Flashpoint Tournament Day

 

With the release of the second phase of Halo Flashpoint products and the inclusion of the new points system we will be running a Halo Flashpoint Tournament day on Sunday 13th April.

This event will be a 200 points event and your Fire Team will stay the same throughout the event so chose your team wisely.

The time table for the event will be as follows:

10:00 - 10:15 Event Registration
10:15 - 11:30 Game 1 - Slayer
11:45 - 13:00 Game 2 - Capture the Flag
13:00 - 13:30 Lunch
13:30 - 14:45 Game 3 - Attrition (new scenario)
15:00 - 16:15 Game 4 - Total Control (new scenario)
16:30 - 16:45 Awards

If you want to see how the points system works then have a look at this video from Mantic Games ...

The scoring for the event will be the amount of Victory Points for the scenario played, with the maximum amount of points per game being 20. In addition to this a player will get an additional 5 points for a match win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss.

There will be addition achievement points available on the day and these will be used for tie breaks if required. These additional achievements will be on display in the shop play area.

At the end of the 4 rounds the winning player will receive an acrylic Mission Token Set.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm Promos

 

Tarkir: Dragonstorm is nearly here and there are lots of great promo cards available throughout the coming weeks.

Firstly the prerelease. There will be different prerelease packs this time and where possible we will try and give players the one that they want.

For anyone that plays in two events there is again a special pin available.

We will once again be running a Magic Academy event for new players and anyone that attends one of these events will get a special Dragon Hoard promo card.

Standard Showdown is a weekly event where your players can hone their Standard format decks. This event is a structured tournament that rewards the first-place winner with a Cowboy Bebop-themed Snakeskin Veil promo. Our events will continue to run on Sunday afternoons from 2pm.

Next up is the Store Championship which is the culmination of Standard Showdown and FNM events for our players who have refined their Standard decks through competition and are ready for their next-level challenge. The promo cards for this event are...

For members of our community that prefer multi player formats we have Commander Party

Bringing together our players for Commander events to experience Tarkir: Dragonstorm story in an exciting way. You will choose a clan alignment (more than one player may choose the same clan), and as you play, the dragonstorm grows in intensity, opening special clan abilities. If the dragonstorm gains too much energy, it releases a powerful effect for all players in the game.

Commander Party events will be between April 18–24 and May 16–22.

Participating players receive Dragonspeaker Shaman promo while supplies last.

Finally, FNM will get a new promo prize pack including cards from this great new set.

Kill Team League

Our Kill Team League is now into its third week and we have already had some great games.

There will be eight weeks in total and the hope it that everyone will get to play each other once. but that may change depending on player availabilty. The current night for this is Tuesdays but players are welcome to play anytime a long as it is in the shop and the results are recorded.

TNT - Kill Team League

Our Tuesday Night Tabletop events for the next 8 weeks will be Kill Team. We played our first games last week but there is still time for players to join us.

The plan is that everyone will play each other just the once and hopefully on different Kill Zones. Players will score 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 for a loss. At the end of the event there will be a trophy for the winner and certificates for the top 3, most sporting player and best painted team.

In addition there will be some token packs available for the top 3.

In the first week there were 8 players...

Aaron played Mandrakes against Kevin's Noviates. The final score was Aaron 23 - Kevin 4

Hazy played Vespids against Vince's Hand of the Archon. The final score was Hazy 14 - Vince 8

Richard played Legionaries against Nick's Ratlings. The final score was Richard 11 - Nick 6

Gary's Blades of Khaine played against Rob's Noviates. The final score was Gary 20 - Rob 13.

Aetherdrift Commander Party

 

Our Commander Party Event for Aetherdrift will be held on Thursday 6th March from 6pm. This is a free event and open to any commander players that want to join in.

At Aetherdrift Commander Party, players will zoom around the racetrack, boosting their speed and triggering abilities that will help them leave their enemies in the dust.

Lorcana Launch Event

To celebrate the launch of the new Lorcana Set Archazias Island we will be running a special release event.

This event will be using the Pack Rush Rules ...

THE RUSH IS ON!

Introducing Pack Rush, a quick, new way to play the Disney Lorcana trading card game using just a couple of booster packs! Featuring a faster pace, Pack Rush is the perfect way to play at a release event for a new set

To play, follow these simple instructions: 

1. Each player needs two unopened Disney Lorcana booster packs. These will be from the new Archasias Island set. 

2. Determine the first player using any method that’s convenient and comfortable for you. Examples include rolling dice, flipping a coin, taking turns naming Disney Princesses until someone can’t, etc. 

3. Open your booster packs. It’s best if you don’t look at the cards yet. That way the game can be a surprise for everyone. 

4. Set aside the marketing/puzzle cards. You’ll need them later. 

5. Shuffle all the cards from your two booster packs together, again taking care not to look at them. There are no ink restrictions in Pack Rush—you can play with them all! 

6. Set your lore tracker to 0. 

7. Draw 5 cards for your starting hand. If you want to alter your hand, you can do that now. 8.Remember those two marketing/puzzle cards you set aside? Alakazam—they’re ink cards! Put them into your inkwell in the ready position. You start the game with 2 ink ready to go! Once these steps are completed, the game begins. From this point on, Pack Rush uses the normal Disney Lorcana rules with a couple of important exceptions: 

♦ The first player to reach 15 lore or more wins the game.

♦ If you need to draw and you’ve run out of cards in your deck, shuffle your discard and place it facedown as your new deck.

 

After the event is finished each player will receive a special Promotional Card

Jump to Lightspeed

Kickstart your Jump to Lightspeed collection with the Prerelease. Come along to KD Games this Saturday at 2pm and join us. Inside your prerelease box you’ll find 6 booster packs and enough materials for you to launch into the game’s fourth set. This event is one week before the release of the set.

Each player will receive a Prerelease Kit - Use the Boosters in the Pack to create your deck and compete against fellow players to determine who has the ultimate deck in the galaxy.
