Bang the Dual

Due in today is ...

BANG! The Duel is a two-player version of BANG! in which each player chooses a certain number of characters from a personal deck, with one deck containing lawful individuals and the other one outlaws; the more characters you choose, the longer the game. Each player starts with two characters in play, with one being in front of the other.
Each player also has an individual deck of action cards, with the lawful player specializing in drawing cards and the outlaw player specializing in tricks. Players take turns playing cards, trying to take out the opponent's characters. As you do, new characters come into play, and whoever eliminates all of their opponent's characters first wins.

Mars Attacks The Dice Game

In Mars Attacks: The Dice Game, the Martian players compete to see who can subjugate which U.S. cities first.

At the start of the game, four stacks of cards are dealt out randomly, with each stack having as many cards as players. On a turn, the player first declares which city he wants to attack, then rolls all ten dice. Any dice showing the "nuke" symbol are locked and cannot be rerolled. Laser guns are similarly locked, allowing the player to reroll only the alien heads. If he rerolls and ever has as many nuke symbols showing as the number on the face-up cards and the supplementary token, his turn ends; otherwise he can stop at any time, and if he doesn't have enough guns or alien heads to claim his target, he marks his total with one of his tokens, allowing him to add on to this number on a future turn — assuming that someone else doesn't claim the card first.

Some city cards have special powers, such as Seattle's, which allows you to place one die on the symbol of your choice prior to rolling. Las Vegas, true to its nature, wants you to go bust multiple times in order to claim the card. Whoever ends up decimating the largest portion of the earth wins. Ak ak ak ak ak!

End of Year MTG Tournament

The time has finally come to invite players to the KD Games/Gambit Games end of year grand tournament! As we did last year we will be inviting 20 players, allowing that up to 4 can not come, meaning there will still be a minimum of 16! If it goes below 16 then I will invite the next players on the rankings!

Since January we have had a total of 81 players attend one of our events which include prereleases, launch parties, game days, junior competitions and of course KD Magic Nights (Friday Night Magic)! There have been over 72 different events of various formats and types!

Firstly last years champion will get a chance to come back and defend his title,so Michael Pike is the first on the list! Sam Chapman, Simon Wright and David Sanders are the next as they won in previous years.

Our winner from gaming convention 'CONQUEST' which was Mike is already on the list so onto pre-release events

The grand tournament is invite only and anyone that has won an individual pre-release during the year will automatically get an invite, so this adds in the following players:

Nathan Minter, Daniel Bonnett and Aaron Burns Lees!

Also included will be the player who has scored the highest average in all the events they have played in this year (they must have played in at least 5 events) which is Michael Pike with an impressive 8,97! As he is already on the list we moved down the highest average scores to the next player not already invited which will be Chris Sisley at 7.17!

Finally we then add in the top 12 ranked players not including those already selected to take the total to 18 players which are:

Paul Da Vall, Ivan Miles, Elliott Miles, Nick Murphy Cunningham, Faron Young, Bell Benstead, George Lake, Nick Lewis, Marc Le Cras, George Kennedy, Gibby Gumbrell and Piers Kennedy.

All players will receive an invite in the next day or so via facebook and I would ask that you please reply as soon as possible as if you can not attend then I can invite the next players on the list!

The Grand Tournament will be held on Sunday 27th December (as part of our last Gambit Sunday) starting at 10am and finishing at 6pm.

The event will consist of a draft lasting 3 rounds, followed by a break for lunch and then 1 rounds of STANDARD and 2 or MODERN. Entry to the event will cost £13 (£4 for Gambit Games and £9 to cover the Battle for Zendikar draft)

The winner will receive a signed John Avon Playmat...

Good luck to everyone that has qualified and I hope that you can make it to fight for the right of being the 2015 Gambit Grand Master!

Which means that the calendar now looks like this ...

Pyromania

The last few weeks I have been playing quite a bit of Dice Masters. I have still been using the same two teams but thought that both needed a bit of a revamp with some of the new characters that I have.

The first team that I have updated is 'Pyromania' which is all about attacking with Pyro. It is basically a villain team with the addition of Blue Beetle which punishes your opponent when a villain is knocked out.

The new line up is ...

plus two basic action cards, which are now ...

Fighting - Basic Action Card

The introduction of the two new basic action cards from War of Light has seen the return of the Red Eye Black Dragon which can be basically devastating!

Once I confirmed the ruling regarding Character Dice on the field...

The team has been working really well building up three Black Manta's and one fighting on the first two turns then hopefully Blue Beetle and Pyro on the following two turns. This sets up the basic engine and then its just a case of building as many villains as possible and hitting as much with Pyro as you can.
