Commander Party - Final Fantasy

Magic: The Gathering®—FINAL FANTASY™ brings a new adventure that fans of both will love.

Commander Party offers players a twist on play in the Commander format. For Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY, players can gain a Hero token they use to help complete a series of quests, earn rewards, and maybe even win the game.

There are two periods available for playing Commander Party events during the Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY season. The first is tonight June 26th and then again on July 24th

The Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Commander Party event features two promos for participants. The first event will reward all players that take part with a promo copy of Despark, the second event in July will feature the Culling Ritual promo card.

Like all of the commander party formats this event will feature a special set of rules...

Each player should receive the card listing the ability and cost for creating a Hero creature token during play. Also, give each player a checklist sheet displaying the five quests that can be marked off when completed during play.

Task must be completed in order and they will need a six-sided die to roll for a reward each time they complete an unfinished quest. The Commander Party rewards card shows all the possible rewards available and should be on display in the middle of the table...

Gameplay

During their turn, a player may activate only as a sorcery the ability on their card to create a 1/1 Hero creature token if they do not already control a Hero token. Players are encouraged to give their Hero token a name!

At the beginning of their end step, if a player controls a Hero token, and they've completed the requirements of the next quest on their list, they may mark it as complete. When they do, they roll the six-sided die to claim the corresponding reward from the rewards card.

If a player completes the last of the five quests on their sheet, they win the game!

Participation

This event is limited to the first 16 players (4 groups of 4)

2026 Pokemon Series

The nexr season for competitve Pokemon is almost here and it brings with it a few changes. You can view these changes on the Pokemon Website by using this link ...

https://championships.pokemon.com/en-gb/about/2026-season-changes

One of the changes that will effect us at store level is the new going to time procedure, which is as follows...

Pokémon TCG End-of-Round Rule Change

During the 2025 season, when time was called in a round, competitors had +3 turns to conclude their active game. If the game did not resolve in those turns, the game was declared a draw, and the match concluded accordingly. For example, if one competitor was ahead 1-0, they were awarded a match win, but if the game score was 1-1 or 0-0, the match was a tie.

This end-of-round procedure creates complicated situations for event operations, since the +3 turns phase of a match technically has no time limit. It’s been observed that competitors play differently during overtime and stretch out their turns, making round turnover unpredictable and significantly extending round times. We’ve concluded that the overtime procedure is not achieving its intended goal with a significant percentage of matches still resulting in a draw after +3 turns. To mitigate these unintended complications, we are implementing the following rules: After time is called in a round, competitors will have an additional full turn (+1 turn) to complete their match. The active competitor will complete their turn, their opponent will then complete their turn, and if no winner is determined by that point, the game is a draw.
An “overtime clock” of 10 minutes will be instituted for this additional turn, and if play does not conclude within the allotted time, the game is a draw. The overtime clock is intentionally long compared to the average turn length with the hope that this clause will trigger only in extreme situations where slow-play penalties may already be considered and applied where appropriate.

Introducing the Trilogy Format.

A Trio of Decks

The foremost feature of the Trilogy format comes from its namesake: in order to play a Trilogy match, you must build three different decks.

At their core, these decks have the same structure as the Premier format: each deck consists of exactly 1 leader, exactly 1 base, and a minimum of 50 cards in the draw deck itself. However, where the Premier format restricts you to a maximum of 3 copies of any given card in your deck, the Trilogy format restricts you to a maximum of 3 copies of any given card across all three decks. This means that, if you wanted to include 3 copies of Open Fire in one of your decks, you couldn't include any copies of it in either of your other two decks. You could put 2 copies in one deck and 1 in another, or you could put a single copy in all three decks; whatever combination you want, so long as you don't have more than three across the board.

In similar fashion, each deck has to have a different leader and a different base than the other two. For example, you won't be able to build three different Sabine Wren plus Energy Conversion Lab decks, but you could build three different Aggression-Command-Heroism decks, if you really wanted to (and your collection has enough different cards to support it). Aside from that and the maximum copies rule explained above, there's no restriction on which leaders, bases, or cards you include in your decks—similar to the Eternal format, the game's entire card pool is legal in Trilogy, so go wild and build the three decks of your dreams!

The Best of Three

Once you have your three Trilogy decks built, it's time to take them to a match! When you sit down to play a Trilogy match, before any games take place, you and your opponent begin with a “Ban Phase.” In the Ban Phase, each player presents their three leader-base pairings to their opponent, and their opponent secretly chooses one of those decks to ban from the match. The two of you then simultaneously reveal your choices, and the chosen decks are set aside and are unavailable for the rest of the match. After that, each player secretly chooses one of their two remaining decks to begin the match with. These are then also revealed simultaneously, and each player uses the chosen deck for game one.

Whenever a game in the Trilogy format is finished, the winning deck for that game is set aside and can no longer be used for that match. Since this is a best-of-three format, this means that you will need to win with both of your unbanned decks in order to claim the match. If you lose the first game, you can choose which of your two available decks to use for the second game, but once you've won a game, you'll have to use the other deck until you win again. So, not only does this format test your deckbuilding skills, but it also tests your ability to pilot each of the decks you built, adding new strategic layers to every match!

Exploding Kittens - The Board Game

There's never been a board game like this before!

Your goal is to make it to the end of the board without landing on the Exploding Kitten. To do that you'll play cards and plot strategies to sabotage your opponents. But don't get too cocky because one wrong move can cause the board to flip. This completely transforms the board to reveal a new path where every move could be your last.

You have to think fast, form alliances, play smart, and avoid the Exploding Kittens at all costs.

The stakes are high but the rules are simple… Just beware, danger, and betrayal, and pee your pants laughing moments lurk around every corner.

What other game lets you play as a TacoCat, SushiCat, or GnomeCat? Who else would give you the power of Meatpants, a Litterbox Sandworm, or a Butterfly Punch?
