Sabine's Tie Fighter

In this week...

The ubiquitous TIE fighter was one of the Empire’s most common symbols of oppression. When one of these nimble crafts fell into the hands of Rebel saboteur and artist Sabine Wren, she knew exactly how to customize it for use against the Empire. Brilliantly repainted and retooled, the TIE fighter from the Sabine’s TIE Fighter Expansion Pack for X-Wing™ comes with four unique ship cards and six upgrades, including the Sabine’s Masterpiece Title, which allows your Rebels to outfit the ship with crew and illicit upgrades.

Arkham Horror LCG

Back in stock is the very popular Arkham Horror Card Game...

Something evil stirs in Arkham, and only you can stop it. Blurring the traditional lines between roleplaying and card game experiences, Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a Living Card Game of Lovecraftian mystery, monsters, and madness!

In the game, you and your friend (or up to three friends with two Core Sets) become characters within the quiet New England town of Arkham. You have your talents, sure, but you also have your flaws. Perhaps you've dabbled a little too much in the writings of the Necronomicon, and its words continue to haunt you. Perhaps you feel compelled to cover up any signs of otherworldly evils, hampering your own investigations in order to protect the quiet confidence of the greater population. Perhaps you'll be scarred by your encounters with a ghoulish cult.

No matter what compels you, no matter what haunts you, you'll find both your strengths and weaknesses reflected in your custom deck of cards, and these cards will be your resources as you work with your friends to unravel the world's most terrifying mysteries.

Each of your adventures in Arkham Horror LCG carries you deeper into mystery. You'll find cultists and foul rituals. You'll find haunted houses and strange creatures. And you may find signs of the Ancient Ones straining against the barriers to our world...

The basic mode of play in Arkham LCG is not the adventure, but the campaign. You might be scarred by your adventures, your sanity may be strained, and you may alter Arkham's landscape, burning buildings to the ground. All your choices and actions have consequences that reach far beyond the immediate resolution of the scenario at hand — and your actions may earn you valuable experience with which you can better prepare yourself for the adventures that still lie before you.

    FNM Promo Cards

We are almost at the end of January so it is time to have a look at the FNM promo cards for the coming months

    February                                                 March

The next batch after these will all be cards from Kaladesh. Let's take a look.

    April

With Sram's Expertise getting a lot of attention, will Servo Exhibition make the leap to Standard?

    May

Unlicensed Disintegration is certainly the most powerful removal spell in Standard, and this new art from Florian de Gesincourt is powerfully great.

    June

This might just be the most-played card in Standard, and Jonas De Ro's version of the card is certainly worthy of that title. Players will want to pick up a number of these come June, and I have a feeling that number is four.

    Hero Realms

    In this week is ...

    Image result for hero realms

Shared between all players is an 80-card Market Deck. The game begins with five cards from that deck revealed, creating the Market Row. As you play, you use gold to buy champion cards and action cards from the Market. These champions and actions can generate large amounts of gold, combat, or other powerful effects. You use combat to attack your opponent and their champions. When you reduce your opponent’s score (called health) to zero, you win!

    The Game On Fire

The Game on Fire is a mini-expansion for The Game that consists of six cards (22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77). When one of these fire cards is played onto a pile, that card must be covered by the end of the next player's turn or else players have lost the game.

    Aether Revolt Bundles

In stock today are the Aether Revolt Bundles. These are excellent value at £35.

You get a players guide to Aether Revolt, a card box, 80 card basic land pack, a spindown life counter and 10 Aether Revolt Boosters.

I only have a limited amount so please let me know if you want one ASAP.

    MTG League

Starting on January 28th January we will be running an MTG League. The league will run for 4 weeks and each week players will be able to get a foil promo token card. (One side featuring a Thopter and the other a Servo)

The events will start at 12pm and will only last a couple of hours (depending on attendance). Players will need to purchase 3 boosters the first week (one Kaladesh and 2 Aether Revolt) from that they will build a 30 card minimum deck. We will then play a few rounds against each other and record the results. From the second week onwards players will be able to purchase additional boosters to add to their decks if they wish. (In addition if you lose all of your matches you are allowed to purchase and additional booster at the end of the event). When the four weeks is over we will have a winner of the league and prizes will be awarded in addition to the four tkens that players will have received.

If you miss the first week then that is not a problem as you may join in in later weeks but of course will need to purchase the initial three boosters.

If this is a success we will be running future league events and Wizards have already announced that the next token will be a foil Gremlin/Energy counter.

    Pokemon Sun and Moon

The new Pokemon TCG set is almost here, and this weekend we are running two prerelease events (one on Saturday and one on Sunday).

The set will contain 19 GX pokemon which are similar to the EX pokemon we have seen in previous set but they have a extra special GX attack that can only be used once per game.

Image result for pokemon sun and moon tcg spoilers

So far the I have not seen all of these GX cards but the ones shown above seem to be gerenally accepted as the best ones. I guess we will see at the weekend.

Which of the cards from the new set are you most excited by?

Aether Revolt - The best of the best?

Are these the top 10 cards of Aether Revolt? Well they are according to Channel Fireball

    10: Spire of Industry

Spire of Industry provides an additional 5-color land in Standard alongside Aether Hub. You're already strongly incentivized to play artifacts in Standard, and Spire of Industry seems like a huge boost to these decks.

    9: Shock

Shock may not be something new but it does make a welcome return.

    8: Sram’s Expertise

Sram's Expertise is just the kind of effect we need to make token strategies viable. Sram’s Expertise essentially costs 1 mana when you’re able to cast a 3-mana spell for free, allowing you to flood the battlefield quickly with tokens.

    7: Oath of Ajani

Oath of Ajani into Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is good by itself but this card is much more than that.

    6: Rishkar, Peema Renegade

My personal favourite, Rishkar, Peema Renegade can generate a ton of mana along with a card like Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, and is a welcome addition to my standard elf deck.
    Disallow

Disallow is going to be one of the best counterspells we've had in some time. 3 mana is a reasonable cost but what makes this good is that it stops activated and triggered abilites as well.

    4: Felidar Guardian

So this is here because of “Saheeli Twin.” Combined with Saheeli Rai, you can create a copy of Felidar Guardian with haste, blink Saheeli Rai back to 3 loyalty, and repeat the process infinite times. This combo is sure to shake things up, and makes Felidar Guardian potentially the most important card printed in Aether Revolt for Standard. With all of that said, Felidar Guardian is weak on its own, Time will tell how much of an impact this combi has.

    3: Yahenni’s Expertise

An obvious staple sweeper for black decks in Standard, Yahenni's Expertise allows you to both sweep the board and add to it at the same time. You also get the added luxury of casting a Ruinous Path or To the Slaughter for free to kill any troublesome planeswalkers that it can’t deal with.

    2: Heart of Kiran

Heart of Kiran is the obvious fill-in for the newly banned Smuggler’s Copter as a Vehicle that works well both with and against planeswalkers.

and what is number one? Of course ...

    Image result for freejam regent

No? Maybe thats just something I might play. Ok what about 1: Fatal Push

Is this the black Path to Exile, could it really be that good? Time will tell.
