Heroclix Justice League 'Sealed' Tournament

This Tuesday as part of KD Games night we will be running a small 'sealed' event for Hero Clix.
Each player will purchase a booster from the new set...

From that booster each player will be required to build a team up to 150 points in total. Then each player will compete against the other players in the event in a number of rounds (generally 3) and at the end the top two players will each get a special heroclix character as a prize...

New Equipment in D&D Dice Masters

D&D Dice Masters introduces the new equipment mechanic...

Equip: When this die is fielded, and at the beginning of each turn that this die is active (your turn or your opponent’s), you may attach this die to a character with the equippable icon immediately below their alignment icon. You may switch the attachment from one character to another. IF the character to which this die is attached leaves the field, this die remains in the field, unattached. Unattached dice with Equip cannot attack or block.

The new symbols for the new clans...

For those that are planning to attend one of next weekends prerelease event, but can not choose which clan to go for, here is a list matching up the previous Khans clans with the new Dragon clans...

ENDURANCE
The Abzan and Dromoka clans share their reverence for the draconic aspect of endurance, but their marks are subtly different. The diamond-shaped scale remains, but the Dromoka symbol adds flourishes on the top and bottom.

CUNNING

For both the Jeskai and the Ojutai clan, the eye represents cunning. However, their takes on what that eye looks like stand in pretty strong contrast to one another.

RUTHLESSNESS

The fang represents ruthlessness for both the clan that was the Sultai as well as the current Silumgar clan. They're slightly different takes, but both are unmistakably fangs ready to sink their teeth into their enemies…and sometimes their friends.

SPEED
At first blush, the Kolaghan symbol looks startlingly different from the Mardu symbol, even though both are meant to represent speed. But at a second look you'll notice the telltale wings of the Mardu clan symbol are still more or less present, but now with an added pair of wings posed differently.

SAVAGERY
Both the Temur Clan and the Atarka Clan utilize symbols that represent the draconic aspect of savagery, but slightly differently. The Atarka symbol has three marks like claws, much like the Temur symbol, but is wilder, less controlled, and with two more noticeable marks on the other end.

New Lords of War Images

Last time I had a look at some of the new artwork for Lords of War I concentrated on Lizardmen, this time I thought I would have a quick look at some of the artwork for the new Elves...

They are all pretty cool, but for me its the two flying units that look the most interesting.

MTG Prerelease Dragonfury

There's something a little special—and a lot dragon-y—coming to the Dragons of Tarkir Prerelease.

We're doing something we've never done before. You're going to get to harness the power of a dragon and actually knock over those puny humanoids on the ground.

Are you ready? Introducing: Tarkir Dragonfury!

The board is a Tarkir landscape, and it's filled with pieces for you to knock down! It's up to you to deal with as many as possible.

Here's how it works.

Inside each Prerelease box is a special spindown life counter, themed to the dragon lord you chose.

This represents your breath weapon. Now, it's time to put your breath weapon to use!

You'll get to go up to this board and assess it. Try and figure out the best angle of attack. And then, you roll your special spindown "breath weapon" and try and knock down as many as pieces as possible!

Each piece has a point value on it. You get points equal to the total number you knock down.

But there's also a little bonus. See that circle in the top-middle? If your die ends up in there, you'll double your score! If you can aim just right, you'll rack up a massive score.

Looks like it's time to break out the rulers and talk to your friends who are good at physics to figure out the best way to try and roll at this!

But, of course, not all of us have that kind of patience. So you get two total rolls. (Resetting the board between each roll.) Whichever one you get a higher score on, write it down on the nearby scoresheet! That's the leaderboard.

Oh, and did I mention there are special promo card prizes?

I can't tell you exactly what cards you get just yet, but you can earn up to four alternative-artwork promotional cards depending on how well you roll—one of which is a rare Dragon! The breakdown works like this:

3 points—Land
9 points—Land and Common
12 points—Land, Common, and uncommon
18 points—Land, Common, Uncommon, and Rare

So, in short: you get to roll your spindown breath weapon twice at any point between rounds, then score some nice promos based on how many points you get.
